Spring is erupting all around us. It's a time that makes us restless, just like all the other animals encountering sun and light and warmth. We want to get up and at it. Stay home/social distance is still the mantra in my area.
So, yes, in my seaside region, we are all tied up at the dock. We want to get going, to rush out to open waters where there are no boundaries, no doors, no walls...where we might suddenly find ourselves in the middle of an Orca pod, or come across a sea lion treading water, gazing at horizons...or watch an eagle in his hunt.
Right now, it's time to exercise our imaginations, to remember other voyages, wind in our faces or sails luffing...to remember the pleasures of casting off, leaving the security of the dock behind us, going to explore the whatever.
Right now, with enforced social isolation, it might also be a good time to let ourselves free float a little, to think about other ways to do things when we are finally allowed to "go". Could be that this pause is actually a gift, for our restless seeking selves?
Hmmm.... And your thoughts are? Always welcome.
