The new normal in life and work continues...

I wrote a post in June this year based on the pandemic called The New Normal in Life and WorkI focused on all the new words and phrases we were learning in 2020 due to the pandemic in our world, such as shelter in place, social distancing and masks.  My business then was fair but not great. Much has changed since July 2020 and much is still the same!

As far as the staying the same, we are still in unprecedented times with mask wearing masks mandates for most states, still social distancing trying to stay 6 feet apart and attending ZOOM meetings.

Most people are not peeking out the windows anymore but getting out and making  positive changes that never would have happened and they would never have been attempted if not for the pandemic:  such as  people have changed the way they work and live. For example, ordering groceries online and picking them up at a drive through at the store. I would have never done that before but now it is my new norm and I save so much time by not having to shop everyweek ! Another change is many Americans are now working from home and will not be going back to the office. We packed up all of our office gear and have worked from home ever since! With technology today many companies are finding they don't need all the overhead of an office.

Also staying low and steady are gas prices and mortgage rates! I filled up my car for $161.00 the other day and I have 3 clients locked in at 2.5% interest for their mortgage loan. The housing market is still strong and buyers are buying. In fact it is many young buyers! I have helped 5 millennial's purchase brand new homes since June. They are taking advantage of these super low rates, no down payment programs and builders are paying their closing costs!! They can see that paying for a mortgage is a good investment rather than paying for a small overpriced apartment!!

The prediction is the housing market will still be strong for the next 24 months! My apprehiension has lifted and I believe people are learning to live with the new norm.
