There's something about colored glass that is captivating.
The subtle pink of Depression Ware....thoughts of Dust Bowl images.
Tiffany lead/glass lampshades....thoughts of bygone days and Antiques Road show.
The blue edges of hand blown glassware/water pitchers......thoughts of Mexico.
The softness of found colored glass on a beach....remembering walks on many different beaches.
The multicolored infusion of hand blown glass.....thoughts of Chihully creations.
Memories of collecting green soda bottles in my youth.....cash to buy candy at the corner store.
The distraction of gazing at large stained glass story windows....daydreaming in church.
Recently, I purchased deep blue and dark red, used glass dishware. They were purchase with the intent of breaking them into small pieces to make mosaics, but I became captivated by them. So for now, we will enjoy them as our everyday dishes until my urge to create leads me towards the glass clippers and a hammer.
