Frederick County Maryland is one of the largest counties land mass wise east of the Mississippi River and is rich with agriculture history. Autumn brings many opportunities for family fun like pumpkin picking, hay rides and corn mazes on local farms through out Frederick County.

Summer’s Farm

For over 20 years, Summers Farm has become a popular destination for fall fun in Frederick County. Their Taylor Swift corn maze garnered national attention in 2015 when it caught the eye of the Today Show on NBC.

With over 45 fun activities, the farm is the perfect place for family fun, corporate outings, field trips, Scout outings etc..! They offer a ton of special event days; like heroes day and teacher appreciation day, and they even have fireworks and live music on certain days in October. If you do not want to partake in the entire festival experience and just want to pick your own pumpkin, that’s ok too. You can take a free wagon ride to the pumpkin patch! There’s no admission charge to pick your own. Pumpkins are sold by the pound and you pay for what you pick!

Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch

Jumbo’s established in 1994 near Middletown offers many acres of pick your own pumpkins, a 15 acre corn maze and many other family activities. Visitors can enjoy hayrides to the pumpkin patch and corn maze. There is a petting zoo, pony rides, Snack Shack, shopping in the General Store and Craft Attic for a variety of handcrafted items by local artisans.

Lawyer’s Winterbrook Farm

There are many activities at the farm included in your admission; corn mazes, the pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin, mountain slides, farm animals, a jumping pillow, a Moo Choo train, zip lines, corn hole, and everyone’s favorite, the apple cannons. The farm has concessions and you can enjoy a private campfire on those brisk fall evenings.

Mayne's Tree Farm ~ Buckeystown

You can stop by for a hayride to the pumpkin patch, straw jumping, corn maze, apple cider and much more ! Open week days 10 - 6 pm and weekends 10 - 5 pm.

Hi Buzz- I love it!!!! Seeing some of the pumpkin farms in this month's posts makes me want to find one as large and as much fun as this one!!! The one we used to go to in Palm Beach County was fun but nothing like this one.
