American Rescue Plan: Housing & Utilities Assistance in Maryland
Several programs are currently available to assist with housing and utilities thanks to federal funding made available by the American Rescue Plan:
For renters who face eviction or are having trouble paying rent each month: The Emergency Rental Assistance Program is currently accepting new applicants in several jurisdictions across the state. Click here to learn more or apply.
For homeowners struggling to keep up with mortgage payments due to financial hardship: The Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund is now accepting applications. Click here to learn more or apply. For those facing utility shutoff or having difficulty keeping up with their utility bills: The Office of Home Energy Programs received an additional $140 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan.
