Mask Mandate Extended in Montgomery County, Maryland

Sitting as the Board of Health, the Montgomery County Council voted to extend the mandate that masks be worn inside all publicly accessible spaces through February 21, 2022. The new regulation went into effect as of 12 a.m. on January 26. This regulation could end sooner if the CDC lists the following indicators as both below high levels and trending downward for seven consecutive days in Montgomery County: a) the number of cases per 100,000 residents in the past seven days; b) the test positivity rate; and c) the COVID-related hospital bed utilization case rate. The Board of Health will confer with local public health officials weekly to review the status. Read more here.

This is a City of Gaithersburg, Maryland announcement.

I remember it was around Thanksgiving that I first became aware of the Omicron variant.  What an explosion it has been in the two months since then.

Hello Roy,  I hear some areas in our state are allowing schools not to enforce wearing mask, I think this is a mistake.
