Punxsutawney Phil Nailed the Weather for North Idaho

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

According to NOAA Punxsutawney Phil has only been correct 40% of the time over the past 10 years.  I believe, for at least North Idaho, he nailed the prediction this past February 2nd.  6 more weeks of winter.

Sandpoint Realty - March 22 Storms

Above are what I consider some of the most dangerous driving conditions.  Heavy wet thick snow.  Check the telephone wires out to the right.  A car or truck can quickly and unexpectedly be pulled off track when hitting the buildup resulting from lack of traffic.

Sandpoint Realty - Snow Storm Driving

This particular mishap a mystery to me.  No intersections, no other cars involved.  If you look closely you will see the tractor passing on the right is not part of this incident.  The tractor for the turned around trailer is completely facing the opposite direction on the left side of the highway.

One just can not be too careful with winter driving.  Fortunately the forecast is more off and on, rather than constant snow and rain, with sunshine for at least the next 10 days.  That will get us through the 6 week period Punxsutawney Phil predicted.  Be safe - Stay Healthy.

Mark someone needs to make a meal out of that little rodent.  It seems he is only right when it is comes to 6 more weeks of the white slushy stuff.

I'm envious of your truly winter weather, Mark.  We continue to be suspended in drought here in Sacramento.

Myrl, being from LA area I know a single storm does not turn a drought.  I did think the Sierra's and surrounding areas had received quite a bit of moisture/snow fall this past season.  Mark

Hello Mark - regardless of weather conditions, driving can be hazardous.  Staying aware is always part of a good strategy. On the highway and on the road of life.   Happy Monday.

Oh geez, Mark... chills ran down my back looking at these photos. Fortunately, the Charlotte area has not "suffered" from an additional six weeks of winter. I've been running the air conditioning in my house for several days now. Stay safe.
