Embrace the change

I would love to be perfect. I really would. But so far I am still unable to walk on water. So seeing as how being imperfect is a reality that I must face, I need to make the best of it.

I begin with the end in mind. The vision of my ultimate goal. Then I look at possibilities.

Sometimes it is a change in myself, and sometimes it is a company that I hire. But always, if I get bad response up front, I need to be prepared to make another change. Sometimes that is changing something in me. Other times it means firing a company I just hired.

The biggest waste of time is to vacillate. If one refuses to cure an error, no good will come of it. And if you spend too much time simply thinking about a change, you may lose the benefits altogether.

So – change. Make changes and corrections. Maybe you have to fire a company and maybe you have to make a change in yourself. Just take the first step now. See if it takes you closer to or further away from that final vision.

Like they say, ”If ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ were candy and nuts. . .”

Good morning, Rocky... it took me many years to stop the search for perfection and to accept excellence. There is no such thing as perfection.

Good morning Rocky. Perfection is the goal. Developing excellence along the way is more than most can achieve. We compete against our potential every day and most of us fall short. It is a journey. Enjoy your day.

Spot on Rocky! Change happens and the quicker we see it's needed the better off we'll all be.  I had a funny situation a couple of weeks ago in one our long time clients homes.  We were interviewing a new contractor guy and letting him know what needed to be done.  There was a weird thing going on with the steps and I simply said we need that cut off, dry walled and painted.  He said well that could be challenging.  I smiled and said - I love challenges, let's make it happen.  I would have made a change had he not handled that little situation very well.
