Here is the 2nd blog for Debe Maxwell, CRS grateful challenge this month.
Today is mine and my husband's 48th wedding anniversary and that has me being more than grateful not only today but every single day.
Mitch was actually best friends with my brother when I met him. We were definitely young and totally in love although he is younger than me by a few years. We lived in a very small coal mining town in West Virginia. He worked in the mines and I worked as a secretary at the school for awhile until I became a director in Mary Kay. We have 2 boys that we absolutely cherish.
Many years later our oldest son married and moved to Tennessee for better career choices. We did not want either of our sons working in the coal mines, because it was so dangerous. We decided to take the leap and move there also. my husband retired and I continued with my Mary Kay career.
A few years later I decided to try my hand in real estate. Soon after my oldest song and young son's wife decided to join me. We opened our own real estate firm in the worst economy ever and the Lord saw fit for us to totally survive and thrive. Now myself, my husband and my sons and their wives all work in our office.
With the divorce rate so high and the many obstacles we have faced and endured I am blessed to say we are 48 years and going strong. Can't wait to see how the next year and the rest of our lifetime holds.
Marriage is not easy and it takes a lot of communication and respect on both sides. I thank the good Lord above everyday that he put us together 48 years ago.
