Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Proceeds
On December 5, City officials gratefully accepted a check in the amount $11,500 from the Kentlands Community Foundation to support the Dolores Swoyer Summer Camp Scholarship Fund. An additional $500 is being donated to support tuition for art classes at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn. The money represents a portion of the proceeds from the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K, held during Labor Day weekend each year. Over the past 18 years, the Foundation has donated more than $188,500 to the scholarship fund, allowing children in need the opportunity to participate in our enriching summer camp programs.
