The city of Longmont is located just Northeast of Boulder and sits adjacent to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  Founded in 1871, it is named after Long’s Peak, the towering mountain on the west horizon that rises 14,255 feet above sea level.  It is ideally located along the Front Range mountains as it is about 44 miles to Denver International Airport (~45 minutes), 36 miles to Denver (~30 minutes), 15 miles to Boulder (~15-20 minutes), 31 miles to Fort Collins (~30-35 minutes) and 35 miles to Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park (~35-40 minutes).

Longmont is a growing community of just under 100,000 residents.  It draws many for work and lifestyle.  According to the Longmont Economic Development Partnership, some of the major employers in the area include Intel, AMD, AGC Biologics, St. Vrain Valley School District, Seagate and many more.  What makes Longmont more attractive for employers and residents is that it boasts the fastest fiber optic internet service in the nation through NextLight

For lifestyle, Longmont is close to all that Colorado has to offer.  Whether you like hiking, fly fishing, rock climbing, golfing, photography or mountain biking, you have easy access to all of these activities and more.  For skiing and snowboarding, the closest ski resort is Eldora, about an hour drive.  The next closest resorts begin up the I-70 corridor about 2.5 hours away.  Lift tickets have gotten a bit pricey but you can save money by getting a season pass.  Check out the IKON Pass or Epic Pass for more details and to see which ski resorts they cover.

For entertainment, Longmont hosts multiple craft breweries and restaurants around town; there is a flavor for everyone.  Longmont also boasts many events including concerts, art shows, a farmer’s market and plenty of activities for young and old alike.  Many trails wind through the city and its neighborhoods for walking and bike riding.  Also, you can cool yourself off by tubing on the St. Vrain Creek on those hot summer days.  To get the full list of events and all that Longmont has to offer, check out Visit Longmont.  This website shows you all there is to do in Longmont and offers a free Visitors Guide.

It's also important to know that we have a nice, mild climate.  With low humidity and over 250 sunny days per year on average, you can enjoy the outdoors year round.  We also have a mild winter season.  If it does snow, it typically melts off within a few days.  The majority of the snow that Colorado gets is up in the mountains where you want it, so you can enjoy all of our popular winter sports.  It’s also great weather for golfing.  Longmont boasts three courses at Sunset Golf Course, Twin Peaks Golf Course and Ute Creek Golf Course.  Just north of Longmont is Colorado’s only TPC Golf Course.

In addition to being ideally situated on the Front Range with easy access to most everything Colorado has to offer, Longmont also has public transportation for getting around town through the Regional Transit District.  There are also numerous churches, social clubs and opportunities to get involved in the local community.
