Now That is Funny!

My broker has started something new in our weekly office meetings.  Each week she asks someone to share a story from their experience in real estate.  It can be a learning experience, something inspiring, or just plain funny.  Here's one we all got a kick out of:

"Sally" had an appointment to show her buyers a home and they were going to meet her there.  She arrived early and decided to unlock the house and turn on the lights, etc.  While juggling her cell phone, key pad, clipboard, purse, and all the other "stuff" we lug around, she just managed to get the door open and the key out of the lock when she started to lose her grip on everything.   She dropped the key and it fell off the porch, but before she could turn away, the door slammed shut and caught her skirt in the door.  She tried to open the door but it had somehow locked.  She tried pulling on her skirt to no avail.  The key was out of her reach.  What to do?  She stepped out of her skirt, ran down the steps, grabbed the key and hurried into the house praying no one was watching!  Thankfully, she was able to get her skirt back on before the buyers arrived.

That is great! ok here are a few..

1. I was once told by clients they could not go over the offer (over the phone) right now because they were currently engaging in Personal time together. (then why did they answer the phone?!

2. I once had an inspection report that said could not inspect master bedroom closet due to large live boa snake hanging from ceiling.

3. At a listing appointment the seller told me not to step on the yellow rug because it was covering a hole in the floor

Great post!

I heard a very similar story here in the Rain some time ago. But the agent got himself locked on a 2 story deck and had to take his pants off........We should collect these and put them in a book. The book story would probably put it under fiction.

April - It kinda makes me want to rethink the whole idea of wearing a skirt and/or dress!

Raylene - omg, that reminds me of another story where a realtor received confirmation to show a home but apparently the homeowner was never notified.  The realtor and her buyers were standing in the kitchen when they heard a commotion and a young couple came out of the bedroom with an embarassed look on their faces and hurried out the door.

Seriously? A boa snake?  I would've absolutely freaked out!!!

Dena - We should definitely put them in a book.  Hey, if a guy can become famous and make tons of money by putting a bunch of "secret" postcards in a book, then why can't we become rich and famous too!
