Real Estate Agent

I am not a meat pie lover, but I like this one and it is easy.

Monday Meat Pie by Patty Smith

1lb Hamburger

3T instant minced onion

1t salt

1/4 t pepper

3 drops tabasco

1lb pkg frozen mixed vegetables (I like the peas and carrots)

1 1/2c tomato or V-8 juice

1/4c flour

1/2c ketchup

Cook hamburger, and drain. Add 1c V-8, minced onions, salt, pepper, vegetables, and tabasco. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Blend together 1/2c V-8, flour, and ketchup. Add to mixture. Make a 2 crust pie shell. Pour mixture into shell, top, cut slits, and cook for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

I like using the V-8 too. It gives it a little more flavor. My sister said she substitutes ketchup for tomato sauce, and chili powder for tabasco when she doesn't have the right ingredients.

I love V8...I too have substituted the same...you mean chili powder?  I sometimes use V8 and some tomato paste... When I have left over tomato paste, I freeze it in tiny plastic bag's like ice cubes...for use later...I alway's have tobasco...

My favorite spice though is worchestershire sauce...I use that in spagetti sauce and hamburger's...pour it over a steak...when I cannot grill due to the weather...I quickly pan fry a steak in butter and worchestershire sauce...it carmelizes and is a wonderful flavor!

Patty, Another good thing about it is the kids like it. Mine will ask me to make this recipe.

Karen, My Dad even put worchestershire sauce in the spaghetti water when he was cooking the noodles. Good idea with the leftover paste.

Julie.. I love easy recipes, and this will do the trick for my sons.. I just want to wait for a cooler day to cook in the oven..  It is 95 degrees and super humid right now.
