Working with JERKS!

By

Did you see the article in the Morning Sentinel Business section B5 and B8 Sunday March 18th about Work with Jerks?  Robert I. Sutton, a professor of management science and engineering at Stanford Engineering School, has a new book out The No A--- Rule.    He described workplace monsters with a mild explicative which is changed here to jerk.  He says a sign of a certified jerk is someone who leaves a trail of people feeling demeaned and de-energized.  Do you know anyone like that?  Well...the best thing to do is get out and away from them.  But, if you can't, you could find little ways to get control and fight back.  Check out this article and his book...www.centralmaine.com.

Let them slide on by.  Don't give them the time of day.  Most of the time they just want attention.

Hi Susan,

Not easy dealing with difficult people.

Welcome to the ActiveRain Blog network.
Shortly after I started blogging on Active Rain, I wondered how some features worked or how to do some of the things others were using in their posts.

I searched the site and could not find the "Operating Manual".

I asked some questions to other bloggers and soon realized the the power was in the network since most questions had already been answered by other users.

If you find yourself in this situation and have some questions, visit the post below and you will find tips, info and many features of ActiveRain that have been documented by other members.

Nice having you on board,
Mario

Back in the day I had to deal with people like this all the time... it is very true... being self employed, I don't have to deal with it that often now.

Interesting artical!!!
