When I travel for work, it is always great to get back to Beaufort, South Carolina. As I fly into the Savannah/Hilton Head airport, I look to the left and right out of the window on the plane. I see the rivers, marshes, water, and all of the other beautiful landscapes that are purely the Lowcountry. When I walk out of the airport, the smell of salt water beckons me home to Beaufort! I get in my car and start the 45 minute drive home from the airport, but the ride is not bad at all. I am on the highway for a few exits, then I am on the scenic back roads that lead me home to Beaufort! As I reach the Broad River Bridge, my heart starts racing....I am really home!
I visited Baltimore and Atlanta this week, but there is no place like home - Beaufort South Carolina!
