Preparing Your Home For Sale - Small Changes = Huge Results

Home Stager with Creative Concepts-Home Staging and Contracting, Salem Oregon CCB #180695

Recently we visited a home that had been on the market for some time and the realtor and owners were frustrated that it was not getting any showings.  Here are the photos that were on the MLS:

living room before

The listing realtor provided a staging consultation.  We worked with the sellers on decluttering, paint colors and more -- these are the photos we took the next week.  I think they speak for themselves!

living room after

dining room after

From orange walls and dark lighting to soft buttercream paint and hardwoods continued into the living room.  I'm not fond of the white curtains, but could not talk the homeowner out of them -- other than that I'm thrilled with the results!

exterior after

Yard work was done, steps finished and bark dust completed the polished look!

What's the best thing about being a stager?  Being witness to such amazing transformations -- I never tire of it!

Margaret;

Beautiful work, what a major difference.  MLS is the most powerful tool and by staging the house did a world of difference.

Margaret ~ It definitely looks so much better; the paint alone made a huge difference!

Margaret, Isn't the power of paint amazing? Of course you have to use the right color, but wow what a difference. Looks great!

Thank you so much for the kind words Cheryl!  It was a fun transformation!  I don't have any easily available, but will take a close up photo for you when I check my staged homes.  I love refinishing furniture almost as much as painting walls!

I think one of the best choices was to take the outdoor photo on a slight angle.  It really adds an "artistic" feel to the shot.

Thank you Laura -- I think I take about 20 exterior shots before I get one I'm satisfied with!  Several realtors I work with use professional photographers on every listing, so I get spoiled and let him do the artistic shots!  I'm going to be moving my daughter to the Atlanta area soon -- how far are you from there?

It doesn't even look like the same house.  It is so important to have great photos for the MLS.  You definetly achieved that.  Great job.

Thanks Chrissie -- It definitely went from being an orange cave to a light sunny home!  It was such a pleasure to help them with their color changes and transforming the house!

Margaret--Great transformation! What paint color did you use? It's great that you could convince the sellers to repaint--excellent job!

It is Behr paint - Candleight Ivory PWN-31 -- a nice buttercream color.  I think paint is one of the easiest transformations there is don't you!  Thanks for your kind words!

much better.  I am still amazed at what I see on the MLS and Realtors should know better.  That is where the majority of people look before viewing a house.

Margaret - this is awesome!  I love the butter cream color you used as it so soften the space.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.

Thank you Kathy for the featured post!!!  One thing I forgot to mention in the post, is that we used only what the homeowner had onhand in doing this redesign -- it's a great feeling to help someone achieve such an improvement!
