The Inland Empire's Best Kept Secrets Pt.1 - Los Faroles

Hey there, it's your San Bernardino Real Estate Specialist- Nick Ondatje checking back in to share one of the best kept secrets in San Bernardino County and the Inland Empire.  My wife Amber and I had originally planned to head down to Huntington Beach to spend the day celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary, but after a slight change in babysitting arrangements we decided to stay local and visit one of our all time favorite restaurants, Los Faroles.

This extremely understated gem is what I would call "undercover".  A plain structure bearing no sign what-so-ever, almost completely unnoticeable to a passer by.  I was introduced by a friend 5-6 years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since.  In my humble opinion this is the best Mexican style breakfast hands down.  I brought my wife here when we were first dating so it will always hold a special place in our hearts.  We wouldn't rather have our anniversary breakfast anywhere else.  Sounds like a tradition in the making.

The epitome of small town service, when we walk through the door they know to start preparing two orders of the machaca plate.  I've had the machaca at dozens of other restaurants and let me just say they can't come close to Los Faroles.  For those of you who are not familiar with machaca it is a traditional Mexican breakfast of beautifully seasoned shredded beef lightly scrambled with eggs, tomatoes, and green onions.  This plate is served with delicious refried pinto beans and "the best potatoes in town" affectionately called "papitas".  Add your choice of homemade corn or flour tortillas and it's a wrap.

If you are ever in the San Bernardino area this is one eating experience you don not want to miss.

See you there!
