Summer Bird!

It's that time of year when I finally realize that we are actually in the middle, or thereabouts of summer. And this is the time that it really sinks in that we here in Florida have about four more months of this hot humid air. Roughly the same amount of time left in the hurricane season. Right now the temperature in the Gulf of Mexico is 84 degrees and rising. Hurricanes love warm water, and so far we have not had to worry about this. The season is not over yet.

I am a transplant from the Chicago area and this was a climate that I dreamed about. I loved coming down here at the beginning of winter to catch the Bears and Bucs game. At that time of year I was envious and jealous of the people living in the beautiful State of Florida. Did you notice the season I spoke about? I never heard from relatives or friends during the summer time. I found out that this was the time they traveled north. Or, they were locked inside with the air conditioning blasting.  You see, they are escaping the terrible heat and humidity of Florida.West Central Minnesota

Well I spent one week on my summer vacation in Minnesota. I know what you are thinking. ONLY ONE WEEK. Well, as busy as my business is, I can only afford to take one week. But the short vacation was awesome. I spent the whole time at our family cottage. Here is apicture of the beautiful Midwest at the beginning of July! As long as I have the ability to head north in the summer, I am ok. I just need to work on the length of time.

Eventually I will work into longer summer vacations.

Hi Eric

I am originally from Germany and my first summer in Florida was though. . .

The heat was ok but the humidity.

anyway. that was only the first year, since than I have gotten used to it and I love it. I travel in he winter because it is getting too cold for me once the temperatures drop below 70.
