OK, most everyone in Washington State has traveled out of town this weekend based on the bumper to bumper traffic on I-5, I'm happy just staying home. I've treated myself to TV and have been watching the Food Channel! Boy, Paula Dean and Rachael Ray can eat themselves out of any trouble! And they do it with such zest.

My hobby is gourmet cooking so I enjoy reading cookbooks, magazines, and television shows about cooking. I'm always learning. I go way back to the "Julia Childs" days! I was a big fan of hers in the 70's and 80's. I even had my photo taken with her and her husband when they were in Seattle.

I think I'll bar-be-que ribs tomorrow nite, with baked beans, oh and steaks on Sunday, my son and fiancee are coming to visit and I think I may meet the new girlfried of my other son. Oh, and my nephew is visiting from Erie, Pa. so, a good old down home family weekend for me.

No traffic, no crowds, just me and my cookbooks.

Oh, and did I mention I'm Italian and I make a "mean homemade spaghetti sauce" just like my grandpa did.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend too.

Oh Yum!!!

Karen,

Here is a link to one of the best crab cake recipes I have ever tried. Nice and moist. Use fresh cracked crab for best results.

You can't beat a little homemade sauce from the stove to the pasta.  My mama makes a killer sauce too.  Dang...now I'm all hungry.

Good night!

Here, here.... travel, on a 3 day weekend... I don't think so - King County will be nice and empty!

I love cooking too (worked in restuarants for 10 years and still might be dumb enough to open one some day).
