I had the pleasure of meeting Rob Robinson on March 15, 2007. We picked this day because we are both college basketball fans and decided to meet in The City of Brotherly Love. We first met for some drinks at Mahogany's which is a cigar bar above Holt's Cigar Company. We had a few cigars, some good drinks, and some great discussion.
Rob happens to be my first contact with a member from Active Rain. Brian Brady was suppose to have been my 1st contact last month, but he had something come up last minute. And Ravi Shah was suppose to meet Rob and I out, but he was the responsible one. He first had floor duty and then last minute, had an appointment with a client. But Rob and I made do and actually had a great time. I had a lot of good laughs with Rob. Gee, I wonder why and you will see in a moment.
As you can see, Rob has a sense of humor. Rob is originally from Philly and use to be in the Mummers for about 35 years.
Here, Rob wrote a post on the day of a Mummer. Hey You Wench !!! A Philly Photo story. Enjoy this, it was interesting.
In any case, Rob and I headed off to Moriarty's Restaurant/Irish Pub 3 blocks down the street, all on Walnut Street in center city Philadelphia. We got there around 3 pm and parted ways around 5 pm. Rob had to get back to his wife. Besides, he lives in Allentown, Pa, which is about a good hour North of the city. But don't worry, Rob took the train into the city and I took the high speed line myself.
Overall, it was a great way to celebrate the kick off of March Madness, the week leading up to St. Patty's day, and good friends from Active Rain. And Rob was just a very down to earth and fun guy to hang with. Oh yea, and seems to be very passionate about how he handles his job in regards to title work. Give him a shout some time....
