rob r

I had the pleasure of meeting Rob Robinson on March 15, 2007. We picked this day because we are both college basketball fans and decided to meet in The City of Brotherly Love. We first met for some drinks at Mahogany's which is a cigar bar above Holt's Cigar Company. We had a few cigars, some good drinks, and some great discussion.

Rob happens to be my first contact with a member from Active Rain. Brian Brady was suppose to have been my 1st contact last month, but he had something come up last minute. And Ravi Shah was suppose to meet Rob and I out, but he was the responsible one. He first had floor duty and then last minute, had an appointment with a client. But Rob and I made do and actually had a great time. I had a lot of good laughs with Rob.  Gee, I wonder why and you will see in a moment.

As you can see, Rob has a sense of humor. Rob is originally from Philly and use to be in the Mummers for about 35 years.

Here, Rob wrote a post on the day of a Mummer. Hey You Wench !!! A Philly Photo story. Enjoy this, it was interesting.

In any case, Rob and I headed off to Moriarty's Restaurant/Irish Pub 3 blocks down the street, all on Walnut Street in center city Philadelphia. We got there around 3 pm and parted ways around 5 pm. Rob had to get back to his wife. Besides, he lives in Allentown, Pa, which is about a good hour North of the city. But don't worry, Rob took the train into the city and I took the high speed line myself.

Overall, it was a great way to celebrate the kick off of March Madness, the week leading up to St. Patty's day, and good friends from Active Rain. And Rob was just a very down to earth and fun guy to hang with. Oh yea, and seems to be very passionate about how he handles his job in regards to title work. Give him a shout some time....

Hey Jeff...  sounds like you had a fun time in the city.  I think it's a great idea to meet up with AR members who are somewhat close by.  Hmm...   maybe I will set something up for South Jersey.

Wow...I haven't been called responsible in a long time!  Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult!  Just kidding...sorry I missed it, but we'll get together soon!

Great job guys. The only way that we can really get to know each other well enough to feel comfortable passing our clients off to each other is through trust based relationships. What better palce to start then with a friendship.

Ravi... yes, you were responsible that day. Take and run with it.... lol  ;o)

Larry..... yes, I agree and thanks for stopping by.

BEACH PARTY HOSTED BY RAVI?  WHEN???????????????  WOOHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff and I did have a blast.  Methinks I may have had 1/2 too many after I got on the train....and said "Rob, I think maybe you had a 1/2 too many".

Jeff is a bit taller than me.  His 1/2 too many probably had no effect on him.

Mohagany's is a REALLY cool place.  We sat in comfy chairsand smoked great stogies (spell that right?), complimented some of the AR members and just shook our heads at others.  It was pretty amazing how we had VERY similar thoughts about various members. (It isn't like Jeff and I talk often and this was our first face to face).

Jeff's insite is always a pleasure to me reading on AR.  I am not a Mortgage Broker - and people like Jeff bring passion and valuable information to the table.

Methinks we shall do this again sometime. [ make note - Jeff has excellent taste - bring larger credit card next time  :^)  ]

errrrrrrrr........that was a joke Jeff  HA

Sorry you missed it Ravi....but then again......BEACH PARTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heather... seriously, do call....  Philly is a great place and not sure when the last time you went there.....

Rob... yes, very good time. What, are you talking like Nick M. now?  lol And sorry about that, it's been corrected. Maybe it was the amount of shots that I was counting that we did. And the shots that I bought for those girls... lol

Hey Jeff - that's pretty cool!  I met Nick M. the other day here in Miami and he is such a cool guy (just as cool in person as he is here in AR) - we made a pact not to post the photos though - I even have a video.

Ines... come on, show us some picks, at least the clean ones...  ;o)  Yes, I would love to meet both you and Nick.

Rob... no, that was St. Patty that you were talking to. Or was it the evil Leprecon?  Or is it leprechaun? I realized that there are two ways I guess? Anyhow Rob, it wasn't Santa...

Guys,

That sounds fun.  I can't even meet with other people in California, we're so far North, let alone ever meet with you East Coasters.  I'm bummed (sad face).

(Smiling now) In 20 minutes it's the first day of Spring Break.  Have fun.

Jeff & Rob,

It's great to hear that something great occured due to the relationships generated by participation in the AR Network. Curiously, how did your perspectives match up on the NCAA playoffs? Any friendly rivalry there?

Desiree.... yes, it was fun. And don't be jealous... come out and join us next time...  lol

Ines.... Yes ma'am...  ;o)  I am going to send Nick an e-mail right after this.  thanks  By the way, saving me any of those little chick marsh mellows?

Fran.... I said the same thing at first, because I don't have anyone in my backyard per se. Ravi Shaw who is about 15 minutes from me, we are going to try and meet. But Rob is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from me, but we meet in the city...   Enjoy the Spring Break I guess. Is it because you have kids? And that they are off?  Going some where?

Ron....  yes, this site has brought some people together, face to face. It's how you use this. My picks?  Well, I have Florida winning it in one pool and Ohio St in the other. I actually have one sheet that has all 4 teams in the final four. I need both Florida and Ohio St to advance...  then I am looking great.  Thanks for stopping by.

Rob's a great dude.  Always there with comic relief when it's most needed but serially professional when required.

Eddy... yes they did...  such a powerful team and they pulled it off...

Brian...  Rob who?  lol  Yes, we had a good time. Too bad you weren't around.

I'm currently in Charleston, SC. I've been here for three years. It is a beautiful city! I grew up in Fishtown right along the Delaware River. All the family is back up there but they come and visit me more and more every year.
