As several of you know, my sister adopted 11 years ago. It has turned out to be a wonderful story. It started with the fact that my sister couldn't have kids, well, that is what several specialists had said from all over. So my sister and brother-in-law decided to adopt. Ocean City, NJ - July 25th to August 1st 2009 For the last 8 years, our family goes down to Ocean City, New Jersey for a week. I go down with my parents, my sister, her husband, and their 6 kids. FHA loans & FHA mortgages -- I have always said that it can't be easy to shop for a mortgage. With so many loan officers and lenders making promises, how do you know who is telling the truth or not? Sure, many people can sound so trusting and honest. My advice, compare at least 3 loan officers, but don't compare just on the lowest rate. That could probably be the biggest mistake that you would make. FYI... anyone can promise the lowest rate and or fees and even put it on paper. But remember, it's not always worth the … (13 comments)

What is the Mortgage Pro Week in Review, for those that are new to Active Rain or those that haven't come across these in past weeks? It's 1 member from AR that volunteers their time to read any mortgage related blogs in a course of a specified week. And these posts don't have to always be written by loan officers. If there is a good one written by a realtor, a title person, an appraiser, etc, etc.....they are always welcomed. Dad, Where to begin..... I remember moving around a lot, not happy most times, because we were always leaving friends behind and had to make new ones on the fly. I didn't like it at the time. But looking back throughout the years, it has made me a better and stronger person. I was shy back then, but it challenged me to make new friends. I have learned to take the good with the bad. Looking back, just as much as we had to sacrifice some, you had to sacrifice also.

Look up in the sky.... it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Robert D. Ashby.....mortgage planner by day and pilot by night. Okay, sometimes it's the other way around. Robert is a pilot for American Airlines, but he also owns his on mortgage company. And most importantly, Robert Ashby is a Mortgage Planner and not just a loan officer. You might ask what a mortgage planner is? It's a cross between a loan officer and a financial planner/adviser.
