pcWell folks, it's that time of year again!  Football season is here and those of us in northeast Ohio are looking forward to the start of a new season.  We have had our hearts broken season after season in northeast Ohio with the Indians having another "failed" season, the struggling Browns, and local collegiate football teams that just haven't instilled that "winning fever."

But, we do have the Buckeyes and coach a coach who has a winning formula and much success against our beloved rivals up north!  You know Woody Hayes would never name them by name. lol.

osuWe have been fortunate to have had continued success for several years.  It seems like the Buckeyes never rebuild; they just reload!

On Saturday they won their 30th consecutive opening day game and will likely have another successful season. (Ok... you're right... they generally play an Ohio school and should win.. but Akron could have won that game a few years back and did lead at half-time last year 2-0 before being blown away in the second half.)

The Buckeyes do not break our hearts like other teams in our area have and they are fun to watch from week-to-week.  The goals are always the same for this team:

  • Beat Michigan (oops.. the team up north!  .. sorry Woody!)
  • Win the Big Ten
  • Beat the team up north
  • Get into the National Championship game
  • Beat the team up north
  • Win the National Championship
  • Beat the team up north!

osuWe are thankful for that team up north because they do give us a chance for a second season.  THAT game has no respect for either team's season record; it is a new game and a new season for both schools.  THAT one game generates tons of enthusiasm for everyone close to either school and is good for the game and good for two fantastic schools.

Regardless of the outcome, The Ohio State University Buckeyes give us a reason to cheer in Ohio and we look forward to their season and perennial success (especially against that team up north!)
