Over the last 25 or 30 years builders have put a new face on subdivisions when compared to the homes of the 50's and 60's. Gone is the "cookie cutter" look - homes may have had a Queen Anne peak or a hip roof, but that was about the extent of variation. Port Potomac in Woodbridge is a perfect example of the new approach. The home exteriors are as varied as the people who live in them.
The first home pictured below would fit into Alexandria, VA very comfortably. Obviously, the second home is reminiscent of a Savannah, GA home sitting amidst live oak trees draped with Spanish Moss. The last home pictured looks like it was moved to Port Potomac from Floyd.
Port Potomac is
- about halfway between the VIRGINIA RAILWAY EXPRESS RIPPON STATION
- and the POTOMAC RAPID TRANSIT BUS STOP at Route 234 and US 1, both of which facilitate commuting to The Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington and Washington, D.C.
- approximately 15 minutes north of MCB Quantico
There are new detached homes by Ryan Homes and new town homes by NV Homes - both highly respected builders. Resale detached home prices range from $340,000 to $500,000 while town homes are offered at $300,000 to $400,000.
