Port Potomac - Part Alexandria, Part Savannah and Part Floyd

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executives

Over the last 25 or 30 years builders have put a new face on subdivisions when compared to the homes of the 50's and 60's.  Gone is the "cookie cutter" look - homes may have had a Queen Anne peak or a hip roof, but that was about the extent of variation.  Port Potomac in Woodbridge is a perfect example of the new approach.  The home exteriors are as varied as the people who live in them.

The first home pictured below would fit into Alexandria, VA very comfortably.  Obviously, the second home is reminiscent of a Savannah, GA home sitting amidst live oak trees draped with Spanish Moss.  The last home pictured looks like it was moved to Port Potomac from Floyd.

Russell,  I am certainly flattered, but I have an advantage - my husband is also a real estate broker and we frequently collaborate on our individual posts.  After 32 years in the real estate business we take advantage of each other's expertise,   Karen

Renee  They are gorgeous homes.  The second picture is a new front elevation for Northern Virginia in the last 10 years or so, but becoming even more popular,  Karen

Russell,  Thank you - it did not affect our marriage one bit - actually it bound us as a team in more than one way.  Karen

Karen:  I just love covered front porches, especially with those charming picketts.  The first and last homes you have featured here look like the Carriage homes in Braemar, built by Brookfield.  There is one particular street, with a whole string of these homes amidst mature trees.  I love driving that street in the fall and winter.
