It has been a long while since my last Active Rain post. Since my last post AR has revamped the localism site, hit and exceeded the 100,000 member mark and come out with personal blogs.
I have made use of these new features. Not necessarily through me directly but I have set up a couple of personal blogs for local agents (see Tina Carpenters Monterey Homes Blog) and pushed local agents to take part of the sponsored communities land grab.
But what exactly have I been doing in the last months?
EXPANDING
For those of you who had been reading my occasional blogs about web sites and search engine optimization might know that I run a web site developing and marketing company named Real Estate Web Experts. I am not sure about all of you but I have come to like this name less and less in the last few months. For this reason I have and am currently re-branding to Sites By The Sea.
SO WHATS NEW?
First of all I am branching out of the real estate nitch (even though Real Estate Sites are what I still specialize in). I have realized that most real estate agents, at least in the Monterey Bay area, have secondary businesses. I am currently working on some business sites that will be launched in the near future.
I have also completed some great new real estate sites. Each one of these has a listing management system in the back end. This allows each agent or brokerage to add and update his or her own listings in an easy to use content management system. (Enough of the technical stuff.)
Monterey Bay Homes - This is a larger site and totally created with Search Engine Optimization in mind. This has a listing management system and 1parkplace IDX system (with Quick Links, which allows the agent to create a link to specific MLS specifications. Examples are in the dropdown menu; Carmel homes, Carmel condos, etc. This is great for search engine optimization). This site is also linking to her Active Rain personal blog. This site has also already captured one buyer and is also receiving more and more visitors every day, mostly from the search engines, in only 6 months.
Lisa Porch's Properties - This is another recent site. It also has a listing management system, 1parkplace IDX system (currently without quick links) and also has an events calendar in the back end allowing easy updating of community events. There is an Outside Blog on this site as well. There is little to no Search Engine Optimization work on this site and receives more visitors from direct rather than the search engines.
John Mccord.com - This is my most recent website and is just about live. There are a few content updates that need to be completed but this site is an example of a site with no IDX solution. This site also has a content management system with listing management capabilities.

Our 'reel' big new product.
We are expanding into the world of video. Our test videos are now at the end of their completion and I will be writing a post with them in the very near future.
Our videos are listing tours with custom created scripts, professional video filming and editing, property website (with custom web address, none of those funky video pages on a video companies site here) and hands on marketing of your video and video website for guaranteed traffic.
One of my next (and I promise it very soon) posts will be a more detailed explanation of our video products and also our partners in other areas of the west coast.
