Are You A Prisoner of Negativity?

Well all have some negativity in our lives. It could come from our friends, family, business associates, it could even come from our clients or customers. If not consciously controlled negativity can and will stop you from successfully reaching your goals. Of course, if it is your goal to fail, you will not be able to find a better partner than negativity anywhere.
In order to successfully maintain a positive outlook you must stop all negative self-talk, such as: I always mess up when I do a listing presentation, or I never get good clients from that neighborhood, or I’m just not good when it comes to dealing with buyers, etc., etc.

Next, distance yourself from negative environments and people. The simplest way to do this by avoiding the negative people you are not required to associate with, and minimizing the amount of time spent with the required negative folks, such as: relatives, friends, and clients. When, and there will be many times, you have to spend a great amount of time with negative people, seek out positive people to spend some time with to bring you back in-line.

Negativity can be extremely harmful. I remember years back when I sold automobiles at a certain dealership that would constantly hire new salespeople to have enough to cover the sales floor during peak periods (i.e. Saturday afternoons). There were three seasoned sales consultants that would take turns going to the just hired sales consultants during slow times (mid-week), telling them how bad things were, no traffic coming to the dealership, bad advertising, bad pay plan, etc. etc. They would then take wagers as to when the new consultants would leave. Usually they would quit within a week. All because these three seasoned sales consultants used negative influence to replace the positive sales training they had just received.

My Challenge: From today forward, REMOVE OR MINIMIZE ALL NEGATIVITY!
