It's Not Called Dead Rain or Sometimes Rain...It's ACTIVE Rain

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Hi everyone,

I have been a bit swamped with work, family and other normal obligations and my time here recently has been limited.  I admit very limited.  If your inbox at Active Rain looks like this:

KarenMoorhead.com

Oh My Goodness I have been away wayyyyy toooo long.  All of my messages are group messages and that's because I haven't been writing nor commenting on others.  Yikes, it has been way too long.

Please don't do as I have.

Be consistant in your blogging.

I have a ton of catch up work to do and it is always self directed. No one I know has a broker saying, "Blog baby Blog".

People do it for many reasons but the bottomline is that the AR blog  it is a vital part of your marketing plan.

To be that vital part, it should also be consistant.

Anyway I have been updating my photos at Flickr, dropping by Twitter and now my most important element in "CyberKaren" part of this is my Active Rain blog.

Don't do as I have done...make it consistant and if you see your inbox looking like mine, with lots of group messages and nothing that you have written or commented, its probably time to get back into the Rain and become Active Rain...it's certainly not called Dead Rain or Sometimes Rain.  It is ACTIVE Rain for a reason.

If we see each other, we can talk more but its been a strange time.  I found that my outside blog is worse without Active Rain.  I just have to do both to better at the outside blog.  It might just be me, but its true.  I need both for many reasons and I believe that I write better when I'm here as well.

Timing just became difficult.

I really did not know what a group email was - I try to blog at least 2 or 3 times a week! Thanks!

Norma & Charlie,  you are brave souls asking me a question when I obviously need help keeping myself on track ;-)  But I do think the best thing you can do is become active here and the groups that are in my Active Rain mailboxes help create topics for blogs and friendships.  Therefore they can be very helpful, but you have to read them and then...write your own post.

The consistant 2 or 3 times a week is really great Norma!  That is so important.

Leesa, always a smile when I see your name ;-)

Michael,  thanks for reading and making a comment.  I appreciate it.

Karen, thanks for making me laugh - and showing me I'm not alone. I've been walking a few miles in your shoes and trying to find my way back. This helps ;^).

Active Rain is a wonderful place to find inspiration. Have a great day!

Hello Karen,

Nice to see you back on.  I have read some of your past posts and enjoyed them.  As a realative newbie here I have noticed quite a few profiles that show people blogging a lot and then suddenly stopping.  I decided to pace myself and stay for the long haul :).  I will look forward to seeing more from you.

Hi Karen, You mean you have been too busy with actual work to play in the rain?  Good grief.  What's the world coming to?  It actually is raining here in SC right now, so I'm enjoying meeting you.

In this highly-connected online world, just a day or two away can really fill our inbox up quick! A great thing about the Rain is that it will still be here when we return, waiting patiently with a bunch of new posts and comments.

There will always be those times when we have an unusual amount of "Group" e-mails. Lets just hope it is because you are being blessed with "REAL ESTATE" business and it is productive for you.

Our job is to enlighten and enrich others and evolve in our own life or career through this medium. Our job is not to BLOG , that is what the AR Gods are for LOL.

If you are anything like me , somtimes I just loose my voice and don' t have anything to say , but will gladly read OPP (other peoples posts) to learn from them

A very good point that you make.  But life ebbs and flows, and to everything there is a season, etc.  Just do the best you can, slow and steady wins the race.

Karen, I totally agree. I'm busy trying to think of something interesting to post to my Active Rain blog myself. It's easy to let things slide when things start to get busy, isn't it. What is your twitter handle? I'd love to follow your tweets.

You do have to set aside time to do activerain regularly, as long as you don't use it to procrastinate your lead generating!
