For those of you who want the social interaction of Facebook without all the poking, status updates, and lame pictures of high-school friends,Appraisal Scoophas the answer. It's called:
This is a social networking forum for appraisers. It appears useful, and anything that increases appraiser interaction and communication is a plus in my book. So sign up.
Thanks for picking up on this post and PLEASE join in! NARs blog characterized it as a "Facebook for appraisers". But it's also much like an ActiveRain for appraisers . . . but more "focused" on appraisal issues. It's only a week old today (9/19) and 248 appraisers have found us, joined, and set-up their personal pages. That's not too bad . . .but it would really be fun if we could quickly get to 1000+ as that's when things really start to take off.
The host software company has been very responsive and has lots of new features in the works. They currrently have an IM feature available but plan enhancements as early as next week.
The forum already has 47 topics and is nice in it's ability to put-a-face-with-a-name! Unlike a lot of our more popular "appraiser" forums, the input screen allows html, uploading and atttaching files, and even has its own video uploader and player (as well as links to YouTube, etc). See, I told you it was "like" ActiveRain! (wink)
YOU ought to join and start a "Group" for Oregon!!!

I like it. Being a place for Appraisers, I hope the discussions don't mimic some of the unprofessional comment contents frequently posted on other Appraiser Forums (.com). I also referred it as a source to a couple of lenders who were looking for appraisers the other day.
Me too! The recent news story about Sara Palin's email being hacked should be a reminder to us ALL on how our public "forum/blog" conversations can be accessed by a wide range of people and how they reflect on OUR professionalism.
Appraisers need to remember that our correspondence IS read by clients and they form opinions about us from those posts and articles.
The http://www.AppraisalScoop.com blog is read daily by politicans in Washington, CD, State Boards, and news services. Appraiser comments are indexed in Google and are public (as are those on Active Rain and http://www.AppraisersWaterCooler.com (if that option is selected)
