There is a way to change the way your name and email address appear to the recipient!

Your signature -- I am starting to see that a silent majority of professionals are starting to use the signature capability of emails today.  Place your closing signature line at the end of your email automatically.

First, it makes you look more professional with all your contact information, email address, websites that are yours or you want to promote.  Secondly, it does save time.

When inserting your email address in the signature line -- put "mailto:" in front of your email address so it becomes a clickable link and when someone clicks on your email address it will launch their email program to send you a message -- many don't want to reply to your message but start a fresh new one.  For example, mine is mailto:Scott@REToolBox.com.

The next tip is an important one -- have you ever sent yourself an email message and see how it looks in your inbox?  Try it -- do you see your name, your company or even the right return email address you want the client to see?

Outlook has the ability to look at your email account but when you click on the "more settings" box -- you can type in exactly the name that appears in the recipients email box.

The steps in Outlook

Open Outlook,

Click on Tools, Click on Accounts, Highlight the email box you want to look at and click on Change.

You will see all your settings and a box in the lower right -- More Settings -- click on that and the first tab is the General Tab and type in your name and company name if you would like -- type in the correct email address you would want the response to come to.

Hope those help - Make it a profitable day!

That is an interesting idea using the mailto: feature. Never thought of it.
