Taxes and Insurance and what's coming

Certainly Charlie Christ should have earned by now the full endorsment from the Real estate community with his insurance premieum reduction plans! I bet there is more in the horizon as Mr. Christ understands the need to mantain home affordability in our area, and whether a multi-millionaire or a 1st time home Buyer, taxes affect us all! Property taxes issues and the famous bill to pass the expense to tourists and rentes is at a senate level and well, if not successful given its rather radical but welcome proposal, it will start to make peoplerealize we are just kicking some of our own residents away to the Carolinas and Tennessee instead of helping our communities with reasonable taxation. No Boston Tea Party here yet, but someting has to be done! With the end of the Snowbird Season in the Gold Coast and the end of the school year bringing out families to look for suitable homes in good school districts, and we have the very best in Boca Raton and neighboring Parkland, we will soon see the family neighborhoods start to move and I anticipate a better year than the last given the media has burnt out its credibility boring the public to death by now with their apocalyptic predictions! We know they may have wished well creating a panic in order to lower prices for county clerks, teacher, police and nurses, commendable... But hardly credible to expect supply of lower pricing to last, as whoever bought in the last 2 years would be losing money if they sell today anywhere close to their purchase price if factoring in the selling expenses, grantors tax, title insurance (Palm beach County) etc. This Summer may be momentous however, as the Hurricane season starts and the media adores these as they keep their ratings high and production cost for television while they and pronted media as well, cater to doomsday peddlers selling generators, hurricane shutters and the like! 2007 seems to be a rebound in our market in Boca Raton and South Palm beach county with supplyl stabilizing while the Buyers are coming out after the bargain shopping spree is but over. Even at Macy's the Black Friday deals run out! Its time for business as usual! mel Marino ABR, CRS, Associate Broker melmairno1000@cs.com Re/Max Advatage Plus, Boca raton, Fl
