Good Afternoon Members,

Today we had a great speaker at our luncheon. Debbie Simmons gave us some valuable pointers to help boost our website presence therefore enhancing our business.

I set up this blog a couple of weeks ago but I wasn't sure how to begin. Like many of you, blogging is a new forum to me and I guess the only way to get comfortable with it is to jump in with both feet! I know as time goes on, more and more of us will make blogging a regular activity in our already busy work schedule.

I hope you will find that this blog a useful tool for you. Link it to your own webpage (as well as the chapter website www.HuntsvilleWCR.org, of course!) and use it to keep up on or talk about......whatever. Together, we'll figure this thing out!

I look forward to seeing who will be the next person to add a post!

Thank you all for your feedback with my 2009 planning questionnaire. I look forward to organizing a valuable and rewarding year for all members. I think the BLOG is an excellent forum for us to continue to give and receive feedback. Thank you Brenda for kicking it off!

2009 is going to be a great year, I certainly believe that the nominating committee chose the perfect group of leaders for the coming year!  Brenda, Carrie, Becky, Stephanie and Brian have some great ideas that will certainly add value to the membership.

Is there anyone using outlook 07 that had used outlook 03?  What is the difference?   My company has started using it to notify meetings and classes.  That's great!  Any feed back?

I guess it would be wrong for me to issue a challenge then not follow thru myself so, here goes!

It's the beginning of March and & I think I am finally getting settled into my new role as President. It's amazing how much behind the scenes work there is and how time consuming it can be but I wouldn't change a thing! I'm truly grateful for the experiences this organization has made possible for me and I feel that I am growing both personally and professionally as a result of these experiences.

I want every member to feel that Women's Council is a valuable business partner and if their budget demands cutting corners, they cut them somewhere else!

Please put your thinking caps on and let's come up with educational programs that not only help our individual businesses grow but also help reach "main street" about the value that WCR brings to our industry!

Well, today was my first BOD meeting so I just sat back and observed since I hadn't been to one with WCR before.  I look forward to serving thru the year and if you have any questions in the insurance market please feel free to call me or email me.

It was a very good meeting yesterday.  There is a lot of work to be done as we continue to try and make it a value added organization.  Thanks to all of you who do the majority of the work and for letting me be a part of it.

Hello All Fellow WCR Members,

I hope you are all planning to head to Washington D.C. in May for the NAR Mid Year Meetings. If not, you are missing out on some great educational and networking opportunities! This is also where they will hand out awards to the WCR chapters that have met their business plan goals for 2008. Your Huntsville Chapter will be awarded Gold! A reflection of all the hard work done by our chapter and great leadership by our immediate past president, Regina Underwood. Please make your plans to attend. You'll be glad you did!

See you there!
