Asking yourself the tough questions in this economy!

FEAR can certainly take hold of us mentally and physically these days - with all that is in the media regarding our economy, locally and globally.

I always try and look for the opportunity in a situation, good or bad.  In my opinion, it is going to get worse BEFORE it gets better.  Where is the opportunity?  I am glad you asked!

It is time to take a serious look at your own economic situation.  Ask yourself these questions?

Have you been living beyond your means?

Do you spend more than you earn?

Do you have a savings?

Are your credit cards charged to the max?

Is your car payment a small fortune?

These are just a few questions that need to be answered.  Changing the economy starts at home!  Fingers can point in every direction at who is to blame for this situation in our country, but when a finger is pointed, we have three coming back at ourselves.    I challenge ALL of us to take charge & ownership of our "own" finances.  If everyone did this, imagine the change that would take place.

Next time we will discuss "How to Shore Up your Castle"

Listening to your Needs

No, I come from a conservative back ground in one of the red states where life is just a lot harder. People here despise debt. We have but a small voice and people tend not to listen.  The government has taught people well by there actions and examples. People here are just slow learners I guess.

Hi Cheryl,

These are tough questions we all need to ask ourselves. I've been there myself. Your comment about  "Changing the economy starts at home..." is very true. We've made lot's of changes at home and also in our office.

And welcome to AR! I see you in Arroyo Grande, nearby Jocko's in Nipomo is one of my favorites!

Same with us.  We're making changes, too.  It's time to re-group, cut spending, payoff debt, and save.  Cash is king in times like these.

Everyone has to make some changes. Cut out anything unless it is absolutely needed.

You make a great point.  Too many people are living way beyond their means.  With the economy tightening, it is so important to get a handle on your personal finances.

Even though we groan about the downs in our economy, they really do serve to teach us to ask the tough questions, to re-think the way we spend.
