     The Tampa Bay RAYS, beat the Boston Red Sox in game 7 of the American League Championship Series on Sunday evening and are now headed for their first ever World Series against the Phillies of Philadelphia.

    Game 7, a pivotal game for both, the Rays and the Sox. Going into the eight inning, the RAYS held onto a slight lead, however, the Bosox loaded up the bases. Going with the averages, the RAYS manager, (hopefully Manager of the Year) changed pitchers several times, and the RAYS were able to pitch their way out of the inning.  RAYS Rookie Reliever, Price did an outstanding job in getting the final 4 outs of the game.

    Boston fans were in disbelief as RAYS fans celebrated their win, and their opportunity to play in the World Championship Series, beginning on Wednesday evening here in St. Petersburg against the Phillies, who incidentally hold their Spring Training up the road in Clearwater.

Tony - I was up to 1 A.M. waching the celebration and post game shows. I have to admit that I was very skeptical they could pull this off, after their collapse in game 5 and subsequent loss at home yesterday.

But once again, they proved how resilient they are, asMatt Garza and David Price took it to the BoSox and made a statement to the Red Sox Nation that they will have more than just the Yankees to contend with now in the AL East!

I was hoping that the finals would match the Rays against my old team, the Cubbies, but the Phillies will do. These two teams look pretty evenly matched, so it looks like it may be another 7 game series, with the advantage going to the home team Rays, and another pennant and champagne party to follow.

9 = 1  GO RAYS!

Hey Don, I was up late as well...everything that I'm hearing today, the RAYS should easily take the Phillies. Several of their fans called into a radio show this AM and said that we were the better team. I guess that we will see Wednesday. GO RAYS.
