Feedback??? HELLO??? The True Professionals Do It...so should YOU!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greenville Central

Yesterday I blogged about the seeming plethora of unprofessional REALTORS out there who don't use Centralized Showings and you can't reach them to set appointments to show! Frustration no doubt! But what about those same REALTORS who show your listings and NEVER reply to any type of feedback!

Is it me, the market, PMS or a lack of professionalism (umm does used car salesman ring a bell?) that has REALTORS tripping over themselves to gain buyers and listings but generates a total apathy to the miracle that is the telephone or email. Is there an allergic reaction to feedback. We promise our clients full disclosure, fiduciary responsibility, and then, again..the unprofessional ones among us, not only refuse to disclose any thoughts their buyers had on the property, but refuse to answer their phones. And what's worse..their brokerage phones go straight to voice mail. Are they whittling away to nothingness and rejoining the fading corporate America?

Speak up all ye REALTORS. What do we have to do to get you to at least put two words in an email or a voice mail. Liked a lot, did not like, would be fine! Just something.

Please everyone. Do not overlook this aspect and please be professional and give FEEDBACK!!!

I am not a realtor, however, I work with a lot of realtors and sad to say, I agree with your blog.  Trying to get someone to reply to a voice mail or email can be next to impossible.  The other day I mentioned this to a realtor friend and he said he has the same problem - even when he is calling to set up a time to show a property!  There are a few out there that do return calls and emails and I thank those of your are are conscientious - it is a realy pleasure to work with you.

I just did a blog last week regarding the same thing. I had shown 4 homes and NOT ONE of the agents called me to get feedback on the properties.  It's been a week and a half and I guess they don't care.   Boy if I were the seller I would be extremely UPSET!!!   I have emailed and called agents that have shown my listings and yes I've already figured out they are not writing an offer since they have not called back or emailed but couldn't they just drop a quick line or a message??  SOmeday THEY will need the feedback and guess what they may not get it either!

I wrote of the very same thing in my blog about 1 month ago.  Our sellers really want to know what's going on with showings - what's so hard about that?

This is one thing I demand as owner of my company.

Do unto others.  So a mere basic expectation.....when you show another agents property....give them feedback and thank them for the opportunity.  This sets you apart from the rest.

I agree! It is a professional courtesy to give feedback to the listing agent when you show property. I am tired of agents not responding to email and voice-mail.

Holly, it's been a while since I commented on one of these 'give feedback' posts but I'm on a roll today with my 2 cents :-)

I will call you back and give you feedback if I have permission to do so from my buyer client.  Remember, I represent the buyer and proceed only if it is in their best interest.   Yes, I will call you (or email) you back to tell you that as they buyers have not made a decision yet I will refrain from giving detailed feedback at this time.

Most of the time listing agents understand this.  Others...well I hear the "You're kidding me???"
