Amazon Mall will help you attract holiday shoppers and generate affiliate commision. Attract more visitors and generate more sale!
Rod,
What exactly is this site. It looks a little spammy.

This is an affiliate shop built using the programming tools available from the largest retailer on the planet, Amazon.com. Once you register with them as an affiliate, you create a shop like this one and place on your site. Amazon will pay 4-6% commision for purchases made from this site. You get traffic from shoppers and get paid by Amazon! A win win situation for both!! This particular shop has maximum flexibility bit will require good programming expertise. Amazon also provides ready to use widgets for less tech savy people. The key is, you get the service from Amazon for billing, payment processing, shipping and handling with total customer satisfaction without having to go through the expensive steps involved in setting up a shop on your own!
Is it good for high end items like homes etc and what is the cost? I guess I could flip and see but if you knew I would add that to your post. But I think when anyone is trying to be helpful we can appeciate that.
I am trying to figure it out as well.... what is the main concept ? To put listings on Amazon ?
Another new one to check into...not sure how it would work for realtors....
Rod- like everyone else on active rain, I'm just not sure how you got to be a featured story. The best analysis I come away with it that you're not spending a 100% of your work day doing real estate. I constantly bump into friend who whant me be sell juices for hundreds per case, the best there is I might add, until there selling miracle grains. Humbug! One of the reasons the industry suffer is that everyone thinks they can be a part time realtor.
How would feel about your family doctor if during your annual exam he pulled out a few Christmas gift catalogs?
I in no way see how an amazon mall benefits the selling of homes.
Actually I was thinking about this today. I am going to set up one of these Amazon Malls for our office and link to it - only thing is all of the proceeds will benefit local charity. This will be a "Help us Help the Community." thing.
Recently our office sponsored a fund raiser for a family with a teeneaged son diagnosed with leukemia. The boy recently died and the family needs help with medical expenses. I can see this as a valuable asset to serve our community, not ourselves.
Karen, that is an interesting idea....but I don't understand how else it could possibly tie in to real estate?
WOW! I am baffled by the enthusiasm and criticism generated by my blog post! I agree, affiliate marketting does not directly tie to realtor business. That way most of you are correct.

I do look for all all options to attract visitors to my site. People buy homes couple of times in their life. However they go to the mall much more often. If you could help them with both, why not?

Have you seen Realtors trying to sell homes at malls? What if you can build a mall yourself?

Associating your web site with the biggest brand on the planet won't hurt either?. Instead, it can help boost your search engine ranking and will only expand your customer base and business. Don't you think?

That said, if you think that the mall is a distraction to your realtor business, you should probably not try building one.

If you believe in affiliate marketting and the associated benefits, I strongly recommend looking into this seriously. Don't forget to tell me the impact it made to your bottom line a couple of years later ;)
