What a Week!

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

No matter what the situation or circumstance I have to be prepared to handle it. Life ALWAYS has curve balls thrown at us to test us and to give us grand learning lessons in this big game of games.....called LIFE.

We can either let it suck the energy out of us or deal with it. Always keep in mind that there IS something to be learned.

Needless to say, this has been one big week for me with many learning lessons.

  • Signing was tentatively set for Thursday morning but loan docs were not drawn yet.
  • Escrow from the closing the week before sent my clients refund check and closing documents to the wrong address.
  • Ear Infection? Went to the doctor Thursday afternoon only to find out.......
  • That I have strep throat and this topped everything off everything for a busy week.
  • Late Friday afternoon the loan docs came in but won't be ready for signing until Monday but client is unavailable due to military stuff.
  • Repairs finally completed and home is ready to do final walk through.
  • Scheduled Open House today and had to have another agent cover for me.
  • Yard man scheduled for mom's yard yesterday and I had to beg him to do 'something' in the drizzling rain until he finally gave up at noon to pouring rains. (mom's yard really needed work....again)

So what are my learning lessons?

  • No need to fret, worry, nag, rant or rave. There are things that happen that are NOT in my control and I need to just accept that.
  • What I do have control over is MYSELF. And I have no energy to waste anyway lol.
  • I can reschedule, get help and continue on with transactions & open houses.
  • My body says rest. Needless to day, I literally HAD to and though feeling crappy it feels good to ....blog.
  • My husband can take care of me (wait on me) and listen to my whining "I don't like being sick". That got old quick :)
  • That it's time to get off the pc....because I just used the little energy I had to write this :)

Have a good Sunday and a wonderful upcoming week!

Strep throat sucks! That stuff hurts! I had it once and it felt like someone had stripped all the skin off the sides of my throat. It literally hurt that bad. I'm so sorry to hear you have it. I'll be praying for you.

Hi Sally, sorry to hear you aren't feeling so good today. I was feeling the change in the weather last week and battled a stopped up head. It's so good when all that goes away!

hi Sally,

When it rains it certainly does pour....but then the clouds clear up and it's a beautiful shiny new day!
I'm sorry to hear of all of your troubles this past week and that you're under the weather with strep throat. Drink lots of onion soup and get plenty of rest...well, I'm sure you know all of that already...just want you to be back to your healthy self again very quickly.

hugs

Jo

I have learned that I have no control over loan docs, closings and clients schedules, I just roll with it.  I had 3 escrows closing a week ago on the same day, I had to remove myself for the day, it was just driving me nuts... so I took a long coffee break.

I hope you are feeling better! We definitely have to roll with it in this business...but also in life in general. There are so many things that aren't in our control that we would make ourselves crazy if we did try to control everything!

Strep is the worst!  What a crazy week, it seems like these types of things happen all at once sometimes!

Sometimes the learnings are hard to get -- and the frustrations feel stronger -- think it helps to write it out.  I usually feel better once I do.  Biggest thing is the realization that I don't have control over some of the stuff going down -- gotta let it go. Some days I have to tell myself several times! ;-)  Hope you are feeling better soon.  Had it once -- when i swallowed it felt like I had eaten razor blades!  About the rain -- the sun will shine again! very important for me to know here in Oregon!

Thank you all for stopping by!!!  I think just reading a few helps one get over the sickies :)

Just remember.....it's all in the manner of how I handle it :) :)

Today is definitely a better day.....had to be....gotta go to a signing this am.

I figure I'll be pretty dead by time I get back but at least it's better than yesterday and the day before that :)
