Any stock investors out there?

Two questions for you:

1) Have you looked into selling ALL of your mutual funds, and rolling them over to ETFs (like DIA and SPY) and realizing your losses? It doesn't matter which way you think the market is going. If you bought at a much higher price, why not lock in your losses and get some tax savings.

2) Covered calls.

I'm considering selling at the money covered calls (the low risk option). And then reselling them every month. Look like the premium is about 8%. So if you don't want to sell your stocks, you can get 8% per month on them.
