In case you are too lazy to watch the video above and just want to leave a comment below for your 25 points, here are the cliff notes. It seems that a lot of people open a Twitter and really struggle at the beginning. The problem is that new members aren’t following anyone and nobody is following them. Unless you love to talk to yourself, this isn’t going to be much fun and certainly isn’t going to be an effective marketing tool.
The key to Twitter is to get out and start following people right away. I don’t recommend that you start by following as many random people as possible. You should start by following people that are already in your network. Look for members of ActiveRain that inspire you and start to follow them. Once you have a good group of people that you are following, you will meet new people and want to follow them.
That is about it. Twitter is simple and that is one of the biggest reasons that it is so popular. If you like my video (or not) and want to follow me, I am @RyanRE

Oh Ryan you're so much cuter than your photo :) I loved your Twitter Video....where was this when I first started. Now what I want to know is how do you "find someone" like you....the find button is out of order :) I am @BrokerKathy. OK now a question....there are a 2 people I saw with a really cool background. How do you personalize this and get it up there?
Kathy ~ Thanks for the comment :o I am glad you like the video. Apparently it sucks because you are the only person that commented.
I know that the "find someone" isn't working. It has been down on Twitter for a week now. Maybe they are doing some kind of major upgrade.
The backgrounds aren't too hard. I selected a theme in "Setting" -> "Designs". Then I saved it and opened my page back up. I then downloaded the left image by right clicking and "saving image". I altered the image in Photoshop and then uploaded the "background image" and everything worked.
Thanks for commenting. BTW: I love Viddler videos. Did you know that you can add comments driectly into the video? If you click on the "+" sign at the bottom right hand corner and click add comment. Your comment will pop up on the video in the place where you left it.
Thank you for this video because I just joined but it wont let me do a search for people the site has been down :( But when it's up your video has helped. Love the analogies.
Ryan- Well your Title is ....hmmmm maybe the Title doesn't grab anyone, especially the ones afraid of Twitter :) And how about a different Group to Post in...the tech people already know how to use it....what about the Art of Marketing You Group....? Anyway, I just tried to leave a comment like you said, but you must mean YOU can leave a comment on the Video. Is that a FREE site, or a paid one ?
Heather ~ I am glad that you liked the video. It is super annoying that the Twitter search has been down. If you check out my profile, I have a lot contacts with other ActiveRain members. If you follow those members, you will meet people pretty quick. I am glad that you liked the analogies :)
Carolyn ~ Thanks for commenting. It is true that Twitter is tough for a lot of people to grasp at first. Thanks for sending a shout out for me on Twitter :)
Ryan- I like your new name better :) Oh, and I just used your tutorial to find people I had been looking for. Thanks, now I really need to get off the computer...just signed off Twitter :)
I have had the account for a few months and I am just getting in to it I have added 45 people in the last couple of days and hope to understand it more soon.
Terry ~ Thanks for commenting! I think that most people do nothing when they first begin on Twitter. Really, that was one of the things that inspired me to do the video.
Cal ~ Don't worry, I am not too upset that you don't think I'm cute. I will see what I can do about the avatar. I like the finger, but I think that I have a really dumb look on my face.
I am laughing at Cal's comment....but I still think you're cute :) What is Cal's Twitter name? Hey I found a couple people that are really into the A game of Social Marketing...nice.
Thanks for the advice. I have been on Twitter for a while and am only following two people. I think in the back of my mind I was afraid people might think I was stalking them if I started to follow them around? I guess not, huh!
Terri ~ You are busted for not watching the video! That is okay :) Don't be afraid to follow people, that is how it works. If someone doesn't want you to follow them, they can simply block you (I have never been blocked from a Twitter user). Twitter is a community that will pass you by if you don't get active and pursue it.
I wanted to Thank you for the quick clip above. I am going to teach a clock hour class at the end of the month and part of the class is on sites like this. If you get a chance could you let me know what site you like and why? I just joined Active Rain and Linkedin.
Ryan ~ I love twitter. Not sure what will ever come of it business wise, but the best thing is the links that others post to great information. I've learned so much between AR and Twitter it's almost breathtaking. I just followed you - mine is @heatherrankin.
I've also managed to hook up with a local helicopeter pilot here at Lake Powell - only other person locally on Twitter and she doesn't live here! So for now, I am locally alone, but loving the twit experience.
Hi Ryan - thanks for another great training opportunity! So, a basic question is - am I supposed to be carrying a Blackberry type of phone to be hooked in all day long to Twitter and then making comments in between other activities? This could drive me nuts!
Diane ~ No, it is not necessary to be hooked on Twitter 24 hours a day. I like to check in during the mornings and a few times a day to see what is going on with "my Twitter crowd" and then I move on.
Ok - right answer! I do like the brevity of the posts there - I'll check it out this weekend. BTW, your use of the video here is good - guess we should be checking out Viddler too.
Nice video, Ryan! I always tell new twits to start out following 50-100 people, just read along for a while, and then tweet and respond when they're ready.
OK, Your video (I did watch the entire presentation :-)) convinced me to try twitter...Hopefully I can keep up and won't be a quitter on twitter....I love that name - It rymes with a lot of words....
Ryan I was one of those that just joined to be on the site, your video was good and I will go back and give it a try. With all the sites and tech. available, I think many of us just get overwhelmed and stop working on this type of marketing. As always, thanks for your good information and posts.
I'm one of those people who doesn't "get it" but I'm there anyway... I post my AR blogs there and pop in every now and then with a "what are you doing". I guess it will take a new client lead or referral to make me a convert.
Hey Ryan! Thanks for the video, I joined Twitter recently and really didn't have a clue but hopefully now I'll be able to get started. Do you have to ask people if you can follow them and are you notified anywhere other than this site if someone responds or makes a comment to you? Thanks!
Sally ~ I am glad that you enjoyed the video. No, you don't have to ask somebody to follow them. You just need to click on the "follow" button under the photo. Most people have it set up so they get an e-mail when they have a new follower. If you go into Settings -> Notices, you can chose how you want to receive updates. You can also click @Replies to see who has replied directly to you.
Great video! You are taking the fear of twitter away. I have been a curious bystander of twitter for some time now. Just got a new computer and am ready to get on board, I think?
What a great idea to explain this by video. I would love to send that around to my Active Rain friends that don't get Twitter. I LOVE Twitter - many people in my church are into it, and every time I post a blog, they all get it! Great way to get known around the community!
Ryan.....GREAT video! Twitter's not a big thing here in ATL yet....I try to find local people to follow and when I do a local search...there will be maybe 25-30 people in the range? Can you believe that? But I'm going to stick with it so that when it DOES catch on...I'm ahead of the game.
Now, where did you get the "follow me on Twitter" for your blog? I need that!
I have been on Twitter for awhile now and found quickly that following to may people didn't' make any sense , since I can't figure out whats going on. So, I reduced my Follow list to about 1/2 a dozen people and now I can actually understand whats going on and Tweat back.
Ryan- Just to be the Devils Advocate, there was a comment about AR Posts being posted on Twitter. I think it is important to understand that many people will stop following you if you have nothing but AR Blog Posts on Twitter.....they want to see a person, not a self-promotion. I went to one AR Member and the whole 1st page was nothing but "I just Posted on AR".......
Kathy ~ I don't think that is playing Devils Advocate. Repeatedly posting links to your blog posts is not really the point of Twitter. Twitter is a place to share ideas and to get to know other people on a personal level. Just today there was a group of us that were basically holding a business meeting on Twitter. There is a lot of power in an impromptu business meeting. People will speak their mind and share ideas that they might not in a more formal situation.
Only posting links to your AR blogs on Twitter is spam and just a lame and business philosophy.
Enjoyed the clip. WOW, I want time to twitter. I'm on facebook & barely have time to answer the friends & fam. Thanks for the idea though. It's all about time management, so I guess I better learn to manage to squeeze some in. I've had quite a few clients from your area, & just above you in Canada. If you ever run into a referral for the Yuma, Arizona Area I would love to Sell them or Sell for them either way SELL, SELL, SELL! Thank You!
Ryan - good video; thanks for taking the time to educate about Twitter; just getting started - hard to remember to post there, and here, and there, etc.
Thanks Michelle ~ I recently downloaded Tweetdeck, which makes it a lot easier to keep up with Twitter. Tweetdeck organizes everything for you and make a quiet sound when someone that you follow tweets.
Bobby ~ You are welcome and correct. It is hard to keep up with everything. I pick and choose my battles when it comes to social networks. I have about 5 that I participate in.
Hi Ryan- I'm not sure how we're all going to keep up with this stuff. I just recently signed on to FaceBook and Twitter when I don't even have enough time for Active Rain. I'm sure there are shortcuts to learn as I muddle along. Just saw TweetDeck above and will look into it over the weekend. I also clicked your follow me link, so that's done. The video was very good and I agree with Kathy, you are waaay so much cuter than your picture ;-) Have a super weekend; maybe update your picture...grinning. We have a shuttle launch tonight, and that's always very exciting. One of the perks of living in Titusville!
Ryan I thought the video was well done. It looks like Twitter search is still having issues but your Follow Me on Twitter link did the trick. I basically have been using Twitter just to keep in the loop about what everyone else is up to. I don't have enough time to get compulsive about it, but its a quick way to see who's at which events and it's a jumping off place if you find something of interest. P.S. I love the title!
Kelly ~ Yes, Twitter is still having trouble with their search function. I am not sure why it is not working right now? I am glad that you like the title and the video :)
I'll 2nd the recommendation for Tweetdeck. It really can help you make sense of all of the information on Twitter when you're following a lot of people.
Also, since the Twitter search function has been down, I've started using Twellow. It's a directory of Twitter users by category. There are currently 590 real estate agents on Twellow.
Awesome!! I always hear people talk about twitter, but has no idea what it actually was. I'm on my way to twitter from Maine. Hopefully there are some other Mainers there.
Thank you so much for the video it was infinitely helpful
Looks like fun! I have set up my account. But, I am still learning my way around. You mentioned in your video when I have something to say, all of my followers will read what I have to say. My question is what is the difference between posting a blog where everyone that wishes to follow me will read what I have to say vs putting it on Twitter??
Ryan, great intro to twitter and good advice. The party analogy is the best, because that's exactly what it is like. If you want to meet someone, just walk up and introduce yourself!
Ryan: I did like your video & you certainly seem to be a twitter/electronic social networking fan. I'm new to the Social Network scene & it seems that between Twitter, Active Rain, Facebook, etc. you can spend an incredible amount of time & energy with these particular venues. Is it possible for you to provide some return on investment figures? Or perhaps number of closed transactions that resulted from your Twitter (or other Social networking sites) interactions?
Real Estate Marketing GURU ~ People that want to market to large groups of people in a very short amount of time need or at least should consider Twitter.
Deb ~ Tweetdeck has really been helpful. I will have to check Twellow out.
Jessica ~ You are welcome. I am glad that you enjoyed the video and are willing to give Twitter a shot.
Rick ~ That is a really good question. Twitter limits your messages to 140 characters, so your Tweets need to be very brief. Most people chose to write about what they are doing because it gives your followers a chance to see what you really do with your life and time. With that said, I think that you can be creative with it.
Bruce ~ You are right that one can "waste" an inordinate amount of time networking and not really "working". One of the problems with networking is that it is really hard to come up with tangible figures. Here is the best that I can come up with for you. How Do You Measure the ROI of Social Media? You Don't.
Hey Ryan, thanks for putting the video together. I will be giving this Twitter a shot this afternoon. Thanks again and hope your week is fruitful. Tim Lewis
Wow, you've got a lot of comments on your video! I have been using Twitter for months now. I too am disappointed that the Search feature has been temporarily deleted until they can come up with a better (more secure) application so they can protect the integrity of their searches (twitter posted some comments regarding this issue). I used to go online and search for people in my area, and can't do that anymore.
As a Realtor, I have to say that I've generated business off of twitter already. I have a Stat Counter on all of my websites and blogs and can see which pages these visitors to my site originated from, and most times, they are coming from Twitter. But I have to say that the traffic from Twitter (to my sites) has slowed since Twitter disabled the search. On Twitter, I have a link to one of my blogs, but that blog has links to the others, and websites, etc. When people have done a search and stumbled upon my Twitter site, they click on the weblink (that anyone can put up as part of their profile) and that's how it gets started. As far as updates, sometimes if I'm working on a cool blog post, I will include a quick Twitter comment and include the link. Mostly I post stuff like the Earthquake I felt this morning!
Thanks, for the video and info on Twitter. I have been hesitant to start another social network it is just time consuming, I guess like anything it's work. I hope that I can start it this week and see how it goes. I'll look for you in Twitter.
Ryan - one of the main reasons I am staying away from Twitter is that it has been identified by The United States Army as a potential terrorist tool. I even blogged about it (I would never put a link up in someone else's blog).
Thanks for the video clip and info. I'm probably one of those at the party with no one to talk to so I found the information helpful! Plan to share the video in a class I am doing currently.
Christine ~ Thanks for clearing up the Twitter search issue. Maybe check out Twellow, as Deb pointed out. I too have met several local people from Twitter.
Susan ~ It is not stalking, it is just following :)
Aris ~ I completely understand. I try to only focus on one social network at a time. Only once I really figure the network out do I begin a new one.
ok Ryan, I signed up for Twitter a few days ago. However I am a bit confused how to use the system since they have disabled the "search for friends/people" feature. How do you suggest finding our friends to follow them? Or for that matter how would they find me?
Simon ~ I seriously hope that you are joking. Couldn't any form of communication be a potential terrorist tool? I don't understand why the United States Army would target Twitter as a potential security threat?
Roseann ~ I am glad you liked it. I love using simply analogies to explain complicated (or even not so complicated things).
Sondra ~ I am happy to hear that you found the video to be helpful. Good luck with you class today and feel free to show the video any time.
Drew ~ It is too bad that Twitter disabled the search function. One of the best ways to find local people is to follow one and see who they follow. You could also try Twellow, Deb pointed out. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
Glad to see more agents using Twitter. @LuxuryRrealtyGrp we already find our Tweets are connecting us with some great real estate agents for expanding our referral network from Las Vegas.
Ryan - seriously - I'm not joking and I would never joke about something so serious. For whatever reason, the United States Army singled out Twitter. In an intelligence report produced by the 304th Military Intelligence Battalion and posted on the Federation of American Scientists website, the report looks at various web technologies and their potential uses by terrorists.
Speed is at the root of the problem according to the report which states that messages known as "Tweets" were sent out reporting on the LA earthquake last July faster than news outlets. It also noted that extremists used Tweets to report on police movements at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.
"Twitter is already used by some members to post and/or support extremist ideologies and perspectives," the report said.
"Extremist and terrorist use of Twitter could evolve over time to reflect tactics that are already evolving in use by hacktivists and activists for surveillance," it said. "This could theoretically be combined with targeting."
Naturally you would be concerned that soldiers were twitting what they were doing. It is also easy to see where extremists would be of concern. However, I don't see that extremely technology oriented REALTORS are within the concerns of the report. I saw the article and concur with what it said but I don't think our useage is problematic unless one was so unwise as to be twitting information that would compromise the agents confidentiality duties. Twitting and finding buyers, promoting sellers listings, or just plain networking with other agents or potential clients is the plus for using twitter. I have built some very nice relationships with other agents that I am sure will pay dividends in one way or another.
When it comes to those little 140 word posts on Twitter, it's all about the branding, content, repitition. When used in connection with BrightKite all followers will be able to track your open houses, selling activity and comments about your real estate efforts in general.
Thanks for the encouraging words, Ryan. I have gotten as far as LOOKING at Twitter but was too daunted to even stick my toes in the water. I'll give it another go!
I couldn't view your video for some reason on my computer at the office :-(...will have to wait till I get home. But I have a question, how do you find people if the search doesn't work? I can't follow anyone new....
Simon ~ I believe you, I am just surprised that they would single out Twitter.
Cal ~ Thanks for your input and I agree. I have built some great relationships through Twitter as well.
Alison ~ You are welcome.
Gene ~ That is a great idea to use Brightkite to advertise open houses.
Adam ~ I haven't closed any sales directly from Twitter yet, but I have built some strong bonds with local people in my community, which should pay dividends in the long run.
Judy ~ You can do it. Give it another shot.
Sonja ~ I am sorry that the video didn't play. Maybe try refreshing the page. Twitter turned their search function off. Try using Twellow. Deb commented earlier that it is working as a local search.
Great Video- Very Helpful! I'm going to be following you on Twitter..once that site is up and running! I joined twitter last week and was at the party alone on the couch! NO MORE =) Thanks!
Terrorist groups aside - thanks for the helpful video. I've been on Twitter for several months and here's what I don't get - how do you follow the conversations? Nothing seems to make sense. Is it because I'm just reading someone else and not adding to the conversation that I seem so lost?
Thanks for the tutorial. I have been on Twitter for a while and admit I don't quite get the hang of it yet. I'll hang in there though. I am follwoing you now so hopefully the learning curve will quicken.
I am curious though. How did you get a button in the right column of your blog for both Twitter and Linked in. I would love to have those butons.
Ryan - What a great job you did here. I just found your post today - missed it the first time around. I have been very active on Twitter over the past two months or so - it's fun!
Thanks for sharing the video...as a newbie on Twitter this was a simple informative video showing some good tips about socializing on Twitter. Good luck in your business.
Props to you Ryan! If I weren't already following you, I would have done so now.
Per your party analogy, @twhbroker has been "partying by himself" on twitter for about an hour now. Please help me on my initiative to shock the heck out of him with a bunch of other Realtor followers by following him!
PS - I don't know him at all. I just found his first tweet from an hour ago & decided it would be fun to get him a bunch of followers by the next time he logs in. (He's currently got 16.)
PSS - Ryan - I'm going to add a link to this post from my blog about building followers on Twitter.
I just found this post, in fact it was in my email because you're Blog is featured. Way to go, great video and of course we already follow each other.
I'll admit I didn't read all the comments because you have like a gazillion and I've got to get back to Twitter ;) but I just want to add that "TweetDeck" should be considered a must have to really get more out of Twitter. Just Google it and follow the directions. If someone else already brought it up, I guess I am just reinforcing the fact that it really makes the user experience "richer".
Ryan - I own/operate more than 1100 web sites these days, so I guess my approach is a bit different than attending real estate agent parties online. I concentrate on marketing to Buyers and Sellers looking for real estate and related services, not marketing to other real estate agents. If I want to attend a real estate agent convention online, I'll come to ActiveRain or something - perhaps Twitter - but there are NOT a heck of a lot of active buyers looking here, nor probably there... ActiveRain has some value for SEO but that's about it.
Meanwhile... most Buyers are typing in "Homes in City", "City homes for sale", "Some County Real Estate", "City Foreclosures", etc., in the likes of Google, MSN, Live.com, etc.
Yes, I know I could put an SEO-friendly signature here, but then everyone would know who I am. And I would rather continue taking all the buyer traffic while operating beneath the radar, and while all you guys and gals waste your time here and with Twitter... ;)
I just watched your video. It is a helpful insight to the way twitter can affect your marketing if you are willing to give it a try. I am new to both twitter and activerain and appreciate all the great insights of fellow members like you.
Hey Ryan! Thanks for the tutorial! I am definitely going to check this out... sadly I had no idea what this was, but you've definitely peaked my interest!
Guru - I think you may be under estimating Ryan and a few others here. I assure you Ryan is quite aware of what most buyers are "typing in". The networking Ryan is doing is not an Agent Convention which is why most of the people he does network with aren't very active on Active Rain. I am pretty sure though that being featured on Active Rain may get Ryan a little referral business and lots of good will which is often the largest asset one can have.
Guru ~ To each their own. I'm not trying to force your hands. I think that Twitter has some value for real estate agent and will continue to have value in the future. It is not very realistic to say that there are not buyers and sellers on Twitter. EVERYBODY is a buyer and seller at some point. Getting to know locals via Twitter is just another tool in my belt. Twitter is not my grand marketing plan.
BTW: I am not a big fan of self proclaimed guru's.
Great video! I'm up and running on TWITTER! However, as I read Activerain blogs and get to the Bloggers, I can't find the little TWITTER BUTTON so I can be-a-follower. Can someone help? I feel like I'm missing an essential component on going from Activerain and Twitter.
Have heard about it in the past, but never looked into it. So, just started on Twitter recently. The video was very informative and interesting. Thanks
Twitter = Facebook's "Wall" feature, the first and primary thing everyone on Facebook sees when they login. They also receive updates via email and/or to mobile devices if optioned and setup to do so. MySpace has something similar, but Facebook is better in this regard.
I get paid top dollar for my advice and services by top real estate agents and companies who proclaim me a "Guru" - and have done so for more than a decade. My recommendation to my clients would be to invest their time into a Facebook or MySpace presence and work That for all it's worth, or invest their time elsewhere.
I think telling other agents to put their valuable time into Twitter is bad advice and a disservice to them. I would also bet Twitter will be history in the next year or so.
Guru ~ I don't understand your position here? You are telling me that I am giving "bad advice" and providing a "disservice" to my peers, yet you refuse to even acknowledge who you are? What is the point?
I understand that you feel that Facebook and MySpace are more valuable social networks than Twitter in regard to marketing real estate services. You also mentioned earlier that ActiveRain "has some SEO value, but that's about it". Why are you putting me and the ActiveRain community down?
Only a coward hides their identity while putting others down for sharing their ideas.
Well, unlike some folks here on ActiveRain, I don't care to place myself in the spotlight - I don't want/need the attention. I'm not here to try and pick up business from agents as a vendor, etc. And I am surely not hear with hopes a great deal of home buyers will frequent these resources looking for Realtors, rather than getting online to look at homes and THEN find a Realtor through a property connection or very local search (or friendly referral). And ActiveRain resources don't really frequent the search results in competition with my clients' or my company's efforts...
I am not putting the ActiveRain community down. Read my comments again if you seek clarification. I am saying ActiveRain is basically a big real estate convention online, where other real estate resources can virtually "pump hands" with each other, present "keynote speeches" in the form of videos and articles to impress their peers (and perhaps their real estate clients), publicize their "self proclaimed" knowledge, accomplishments and render advice - be it good or bad. It's a big "pat yourself on the back" party.
Oh yeah, and the SEO gig. I mean - can you imagine that some folks publish articles here with an ulterior motive of seeding their SEO signature for just that very reason - SEO? That's about it.
My point is and was to offer my advice in opposition of yours - that twitter is not the best use of their time. That is all.
Now, here are some more keywords and keyphrases for you (I don't need them):
Guru ~ All comment links on ActiveRain have "nofollow" tags, so there is no SEO value there.
For the most part you are correct that a lot of the ActiveRain members spend a good deal of time networking with each other on ActiveRain. However, I think that you may be underestimating my knowledge as Cal pointed out yesterday. I spend a small portion of my valuable time in several networking places each day. Yes, Twitter and ActiveRain are two of those networks. There are certain benefits that I gain from each network. I also spend a lot of time selling real estate, which is what I get paid to do.
There are a lot of things that agents do that are a waste of time. I think Ryan's video speaks for itself by all the positive comments he has received and I personally thought it was good myself. Social Media is just that, socializing online with other people and everyone can choose who they want to socialize with if they choose to join one of these communities. Different strokes for different folks.
Like most things in this business, unless you plan on being one of the best, you very well might be wasting your time. If you own a crappy website that does not show up in the first couple pages of Google for any of your keywords, then you may be wasting your time. If you join Facebook and have 5 friends, then you may be wasting your time. If you join MySpace and have some teenagers hanging out with you, then you may be wasting your time.
This was not a time management article, or a how to attract buyers article. Twitter is talked about a lot anymore and as Ryan kind of mentions, at first glance it seems a little corny and not much to it. I think he provided a good starting point for anyone interested in this particular Social Media outlet. It is a little more like instant messaging than Facebook which a lot of people like.
A few observations.
1.) A guru as defined in the Webster Dictionary is: a teacher and especially intellectual guide in matters of fundamental concern b: one who is an acknowledged leader or chief proponent c: a person with knowledge or expertise : expert. 2.) I know a couple people I would consider real estate marketing guru's and they sure would NOT call themselves GURU's, they don't need to because others already know it or think it. 3.) I have seen a lot of anonymous commenter’s that post opposing views and are often rude and disrespectful. Face to face they are most likely true cowards. It makes them feel like someone important to say the things they are saying, but they are too ashamed or scared to reveal their true identity. 4.) If you can't put your name behind something you say, you probably should reconsider saying it.
Oh, one last thought. It seems like a true Real Estate Marketing GURU wouldn't be wasting their time posting these type comments (about wasting time) on someone else's post. They would be GURU'ing for ALL those clients that call them a GURU. ;)
Thanks so much for the video tutorial ... great stuff. I honestly went throught the exact feelings you described, now I'm ready to network, follow and be followed.
Thanks, Ryan for posting this info! I've been on Twitter for a month or two now. I know it will help my business, but it seems there is a lot of nonsense on there.
I also have trouble thinking what to say.....anyway, you can follow me: @DenverDecorator
Hey thanks for the tutorial video. I have recently joined facebook.com and have mastered that for the most part and now on to join twitter. I really did not know what to do but know have great info to get started. Thanks.
Ryan - great video. I avoided Twitter for a long time and finally joined about a week ago and love it-- son you could say the light went off. Now I am learning the ins and outs - you are right--once you follow people, you can get a feel and see the benefit.
On a side note (hope you don't mind)--I like the quality of the video and want to know what kind of camera you use and do you feel that viddler is the best place to post. I have finally been getting into video and am not always happy with my finished product. I have been using Mixpo as I thought it was the best so don't know if it is the camcorder I use or my hosting. Thanks.
hey Ryan sounds like Twitter makes for a bunch of followers? Is Twitter just more real estate technology nonsense or have you actually gotten leads from using it?
Cathy ~ It does take a while to figure Twitter out. Regarding the video quality, I don't use a camcorder. I just use my digital camera on the video setting. I do like Viddler's clean format, but I post my videos on other sites too.
Stephen ~ Twitter in not real estate technology. Twitter is another social network that works for a lot of businesses, including real estate if use properly.
Ryan - great video. I would add that if you want more people to follow you than it is important to add good/interesting content and to participate in some of the conversations.
Ryan...I am just starting on Twitter and appreciate your info...how do I add the Follow me on Twitter logo to my AR posts? Maybe I missed that..sorry, it is New Years Eve!
Thanks for the info Ryan..nice job with the video and encouraging people to become more active on Twitter. CNN mentioned it recently as a great communication tool. That was what spurred me on to sign up. Now you've inspired me to start using it.
