What would you do if you won a Million Dollars?

What would you do if you won a Million Dollars?

I am looking for some dreamers and throwing this question out there because I am very curious.

If you were to win a Million Dollars, what would you do with it? There are many different things I might do if I was to win a Million Dollars. I could go live in South East Asia, Mexico and some other counties like a King. I could invest into some bonds, Real Estate Investments, stocks, etc. I could give it away to charity. I could help families in other countries that are starving and have no homes to live in. Would you pay off your bills and become dept free?

Really think hard about this question before you write out your comment! And think to yourself, would I keep it for myself? Share it with my family? Or give it to someone that needs it more than me?

The photograph above is another choice that I would think about, to own a building lot on the west coast with a view like this.

I am very excited about hearing what others would do if they won a Million Dollars!

My husband could take the 4 months off of work to get his hip replacement :)....Winning a pile of cash is not always a happy ending though...

Sadly, I must say I met with my seller this morning, who is trying to sell her property.  She bought it for cash about 5 years ago...She got a pile of cash (half mil) in the Phen Phen suit.  She paid cash, and now owes a mortgage, tax lien, and misc debt on it, that she is not going to break even, but actually has to negotiate to get some debt forgiven......sad what happens,

Hi Robert-Is that million dollars tax-free? If so, 10% would go to my church. I'd take the family to Hawaii for a two-week vacation. I'd travel abroad as well as the U.S. I'd invest 85% of it and then have a little fun experiencing new things. The possibilities are endless. :-)

After reading Pat's comment I changed my mind. $1 mil is simply not enough. Need $2 Mil, and then with one I will do all of the above, and another one keep for retirement.

If I won 1 million dollars I would purchase a comfortable home for my family of 5 (probably in the 300-400 range) and the rest of the money would sit in a savings account so that we could use it for a rainy day.

Oh.. Man if I won a million dollars... What a blessing that would be. As I was just discussing this topic with my husband the other day that we need to win the lottery. As we are now in the generation of caing for our parents. My mother in law lives with us as she has heart failure at age 62 along with our four children with thier financial needs medical, college and extra activities we have seen our savings go many times and we work harder to care for all who depend on us.

I would pay off all our bills and my mother in laws medical along with putting some away for the kid's college and ou retirement we both do not want to put our children caring for us as we have seen first hand how hard it can be. We would give some to our church as they are expanding however stalled due to rising costs in materials.

Of couse we would still work as I could not see myself doing anything else.

I would not tell anyone.  First I would pray about it and meet with a financial planner.  Then I would to listen for instruction from God and from the financial planner (in that order).  Sudden wealth can ruin people, ruin relationships and change a person's focus on what's important.  I would hate to be the lucky winner who lost it all foolishly.  One thing that I would like to do is to donate a portion of the money to the small private K-8 school that all three of my children attended.  If it turned out that I had some to spare?  A month exploring Australia and New Zealand would really rock my world.

Ahhh...good question.

I would pay off the mortgages for 2 of our kids.  Buy homes for the other 2.  Set up education funds for the grandkids.

Move to any part of the country that didn't snow.  And last but not least, open up a homeless shelter or two.

Well Robert, Let me see. The one thing would be is of course not to tell nobody about it. Second thing would be to up grade on a couple of things. See which of my family members need help to get out of debt, and will stay debt free. Set up trust funds for all my kids, that they can not touch it an till they are 40 yrs old.

I've have seen people with money and still complain that there is not enough.

I was reading an article somewhere about lottery winners and it was saying that most are broke within 10 years after winning. At first I though I was reading it wrong or misunderstood it.

I would build a house of 'hope' for 100 sexually abused children and give them a beautiful space to call their own. Then, I'd sit back and watch them smiling and being children again. If I won ten million...I'd build ten homes! GBU~
