10 things I love most about central NJ...What are your top 10?

I'll give you my top 8...

8 - It feels like the Country with a little bit of City thrown in!  You can go apple picking in the afternoon and then have dinner in any number of upscale restaurants!

7 - My neighbors!  The majority are city transplants who came out here for "a better life".  Pride of ownership abounds!

6 - Location, location, location!  How much more central can you get (thus the name!). 

5 - The opportunities afforded my children, both from and educational and extracurricular perspective.

4 - Access to the best beaches in the Tri-State area!

3 - Culturally Rich!  Fyi...The Count Basie Theater in Red Bank has just been renovated!

2 - Alright, I'll admit it... I too am impressed by my famous neighbors... I think you know Jon Bon Jovi!

I'm from Central Jersey as well...

1......one hour to either Philadelphia or New York City

2......has an Ivy League school....Princeton University

3.....is diversified

4.....has farm as a neighbor (Lee's Turkey Farm)

5......has numerous places to shop

6......House made us famous!

7.....A sense of pride in who we are

8.....Can find Tomato Pies in Trenton

9.....Has Trenton Thunder

10....Has the captial of New Jersey

Amber,  I am an original Central New Jersey Girl....I was born and raised in Union County, moved to Middlesex county but love Monmouth county. I love to visit other places but I would never be able to live anywhere else. We enjoy all 4 seasons, which I could never live without!!!!!

I didn't know there was a Six Flags New Jersey. Looks like a roller coaster that I need to ride. I'll put it on my bucket list.

10.  You can be Skiing, At the Beach, In the City (NYC or PHILLY) in about an hour or even less!

  9.  Great Family Neighborhoods!

  8.  Malls Everywhere!!! (or is that all of NJ?)

  7.  Great schools (Private and Public)

  6.  People from South Jersey commonly refer to it as NORTH Jersey... Why, people, why?

  5.  Good location for commuters - Trains, buses, ferry

  4.  Miles of great beaches!!!

  3.  Diversity

I have to comment as a former Jeseyite Imiss all of the great food!  BTW my mother was one of the 1st 4 women who started Delicious Orchards.

I am always commenting on how we rarely have the weather extremes I have had elseware. Also being in the middle of everything. My daughter lives in the city now and it's great that she can take a bus home anytime.

I'm surprised a Jersey girl called it Six Flags...It's Great Adventure!!!  LOL  Happy New Year!
