How do I find a good pest inspector?

While the scope of a pest inspection is not as complex as a home inspection, if termites are found - or worse yet, missed, then the financial ramifications can be huge.  Most pest inspections find evidence of carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and/or mice droppings.  In my experience, it's about 80%.  These minor pests, while a nuisance, can be treated easily with a general pest treatment paid for by the seller.  Termites, on the other hand, if either currently in the structure and active, or evidence of past damage is found, can both be a minor event or a potentially major expenditure to correct.  Hiring a competent, thorough, long-standing and experienced pest inspector is key.
