If you have been searching for a great new place to have lunch, dinner, and a great night of hanging out with friends? Scotty Browns will be opening this Thursday the 8th of January. Located in the Barkley Village on Newmarket St., Scotty Browns is the American name for the restaurant group in Canada called Browns Social House. Featuring state of the art technology, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, a fire pit, and the best atmosphere one could expect from the Bellingham restaurant and night life scene. This place is sure to be a hit.

I had the privelage of attending the pre-opening New Years Party hosted by the owners. Wow, what a night. This scene makes you proud to live in Bellingham! If this establishment is any indication of where Bellingham is headed in terms of the social scene, dining, and general development...I am going to be living here for a long time!

Attached are some of the pics from the New Years Party and Scotty Browns.

First visit today - very dissappointed.  Music was way too loud, and if that "shot" of Baileys I asked for on the side of my coffee was really a full shot I will apologize but I doubt it.  $5 for a half a shot is uncalled for.  The "fresh" coffee - was pretty weak.  My hamburger bun smashed down from holding it - it was thinner than my lettuce.  The tomato fell apart into mush on my plate.  I did enjoy the dill pickle spear.  Prices are steap but guess they have to pay for the decor and rent.   I took a comment card - but the address they say to sign on to doesn't work: rantandrave@scottybrownsrestaurant.com  - maybe it is still "under construction" like it seems their food should be.   Sorry but we won't be back - good ol' Bobs Burger and Brew beats this place all to heck.  Maybe in time...........

Went last night with a friend.  We both thought the decor was very impressive but, the food was not.  I also had the burger and thought the bun was pathetic and not very tasty.  I must have had a slice from the same tomato.  My friend was not impressed with her Chicken Parm either.  However, the sweet potato fries were good.  Not sure I will return either...... too much show and not enough taste.

My GF wanted Scott Browns, I wanted the Outback, So she talked me into going, This was my first and only time I will be going there.  I love the way the place was layed out, it looked good, even with the 1/4 inch of dust on anything thats flat.

When My steak came to the table, I pressed on the center of it to tell me if it was cooked correctlly, It wasn't even close to being medium rare like i asked, i don't beleive in sending the food back, so i clauked it up to being a one time thing, & I'll wont be back.

I asked my GF if her salad was good, She said " hard to mess up salad "

Bummer for me, I could have had a excellent steak some place else.

Can't say I've ever had a bad experience there. Love the place, food has always been great. Can't get this atmosphere any where else in Bellingham. By the way went to bob's the other day for lunch , seems they have changed there burger patties. Not very good at all anymore.
