Call me CRAZY...

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Homes Realty and Mortgage

Call me crazy - or adventurous - or just frugal at the moment, but I have decided to build my own website.   It is a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be and a true time consumer.  In fact, I have a concentrating on computerwhole new respect for those who do it as a business.

With that said, I am actually enjoying the creativity of the process.  Adding tabs and sub tabs, creating the content, taking photos and selecting images, is ... fun for me.  But I am stuck with something and I need some help.

I would like to add an interest rate module, a weather module and a currency converter.  I, of course would like to find some (free) embedded codes for these modules.

Do you have any suggestions?  I would appreciate any help.

Just like trying to sell your own home, you never know just how hard the work is until you have to do it yourself.  I have recently built a site too and I enjoyed the process but it is a lot of work and I know my code is not near what a pros would be.

Margarie, for all of those things, all you need is the HTML code (wherever you are getting the widget should have it) and just copy and paste it into your website wherever you want it.  I used one on my website that I did myself if you want to take a look  www.buellinspections.com

HI Marjorie, Check out the various groups here in AR where people post free marketing tools and free webiste tools.  There are several, and they will point you to where you can get free widgets to do almost anything you want.  I have learned a bundle - some of which I haven't even done yet to my site or my blogs.  But I will!

I do our web pages, always have, and I love it. The good news is that once you have the basic site up, making changes and updates will never be as big a job. For the items you want, you are going to have to be linked in to some updating data. There are a lot of freebies out there, I would do a search on Google. Try looking for a widget from a good source.

Try widgetbox.com

I have found a current conditions weather widget, mortgage calc, and a few other useful widgets there.  Good luck.
