Panthers fans in Charlotte NC were probably watching last weekend's football games to see what would happen ot the Cardinals. Or, they were not watching altogether in disgust.
Whichever camp you chose, it seems a little less embarrassing for the Panthers. The Cardinals beat the Panthers in a really embarrassing way in the first round of the playoffs at home. It was a terrible game. It was cold and wet and the Panthers played poorly in uptown Charlotte.
But there is always a sense of vindication when the team that upset you goes on to win, although it's a pretty hollow victory.
The Cardinals have a guy named Larry Fitzgerald, who is about 20 feet tall, runs the 40 in about 2 seconds and can jump a mile into the air. He's always a difficult person to cover.
The craziest thing about the superbowl, is that usually the stronger team with the better record wins in football. It's not like in baseball where equally matched teams can win or lose depending on the night. I was totally expecting it to be a Panthers - Giants superbowl. But that didn't happen.
I guess instead of making a big deal of the game in a sports establishment, people in Charlotte are probably going to just stay home for it.
