New York Governor's Mansion To Go Green

Not long ago I wrote a post about a house that was possible the greenest house in the northeast. Since then the house was given that honor.

Today it was announced that Mrs. Spitzer the wife of the Governor of New York is working on initiative to turn the Govenor's mansion in Albany green, as well as their farm in Columbia County and their Manhattan apartment.

By setting a good example Mrs. Spitzer thinks the rest of the State will follow her example. It is amazing how by just changing to more efficient light bulbs and turning off appliances the difference it makes in utility bills.

So who knows maybe New York could become one of the greenest state, but only time will tell.

I have notice that different area of the county do staging. In Vancouver WA not as many people do staging but it is stronger in Portland OR

Jason, I guess I was not very specific, this was green as in environmentally friendly, doing things to save energy and seeking alternate energy sources.

Jennifer I hope thru this endeavour that they do not modernize the governors mansion to the point that it loses it's historical appeal! Also..hope they don't secretly update their farm and their Manhattan apartment on taxpayers $$$.

Danny,

Some of the item proposed where solar panels and solar covers for the pool as well as energy efficient light bulbs. This project will certainly make the public more aware of things they could do to help the environment.

We can all learn a thing or two here about doing our part to conserve. I recently got rid of my gas guzzling 7 passenger SUV for just such a reason. That and why throw money down the toilet wastefully.
