Pay a Visit to the Cuyahoga County, Ohio Public Library – Brecksville Branch

We are REALTORS and residents of Brecksville, Ohio, which is located in Cuyahoga County.  I am writing this post to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible public library system we are so fortunate to have for all of our residents-young and old.  The library system is not just 28 buildings scattered hither and yon throughout the county.  It is a true system that provides each community area the opportunity to educate, gather, inform, listen, create, and imagine.

Just this past Holiday season, our daughter volunteered at the Brecksville Library helping children create their very own gingerbread houses.  The community room was a flurry of activity with kids seated at tables full of bowls of graham crackers, assorted candies, and thick, sweet, vanilla icing-a true delight for any age!  There was lots of giggling, ooohs and aahhs, as well as finger licking going on!  I worked with our son on his house and it was a blast-he was enchanted with the whole idea that icing can taste so good and serve as glue at the same time! 

Another cold day when we were visiting, we were sitting by the fireplace and there was a string quartet playing. The students were from Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and they played beautifully.  My daughter, who had just started playing the viola a year ago, in 4^th grade, was in awe.  One of the student's mothers was sitting near us and saw my daughter's expression.  She told her, "One day that can be you." Our daughter is still playing; she is in 7^th grade and was recently selected to represent the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School in the Middle School Honors Orchestra Festival in March. 

We have been so thankful for our wonderful branch library and the entire library system.  I cannot think of a time when I could not get my hands on something I was looking for, whether it be right there or specially ordered.  The staff is wonderful, throughout all the library branches we have visited, and the environments are inviting and comfortable.  It gives me a great feeling when I walk into our branch library and see all of the activity-from the Children's Area, where we have put together many a puzzle, to the computer area, to the reading "spots", to the homework tables.  It is truly a special place and a wonderful system.
