I recently wrote a thank you letter in the form of an email to a former friend and mentor. It was simply to tell him that I was doing well, and thanking him for all his help in the past year. See, I worked as a Litigation Support Consultant in the Washington DC area under his rein as CEO. We had weekly sales meetings, strategy building sessions, and conference calls where I learned more than I could have even imagined. I felt is was time he deserved to hear how my life was affected in such a positive way.
To my surprise I received an email a few short days later telling me he had written an article about ME, yes ME! This former CEO thought enough about me to write an article on his blog that generates over 10,000 hits a day about his Realtor . I was incredibly honored while astonished at the same time.
I told him that he had instilled in me a different way of viewing my industry and change how I now operated my business. I was now able to generate new clients and spark previous clients interest with a "Wow Factor" because this is precisley how he grabbed my attention.
