I Hate to Get Politicial.......
But Florida should be ashamed! How can it be that a man who was mistakenly incarcerated for 24 years for a crime HE DID NOT COMMIT fail to be compensated by the State that kept him jailed all that time?
Alan Crotzer served 24 years in a Florida prison and was exonerated last year through DNA evidence. The Florida House voted to award Mr. Crotzer $1.25 million ($50,000 per year for each year of his wrongful incarceration). But the Florida Senate has determined that this payment is NOT a budget priority. What? Jailed for 24 years of his life and restitution to him is not a priority?
This is Florida government at its worst. I urge all of you in Florida to contact your Senators and let them know you are outraged and that restitution MUST be made to Alan Crotzer NOW!!!
