A Rose agter gentle shower, photo by Liz Carter

A rose after a gentle shower

Taken at my lake house after a rain, located on Lake Limestone...you can see the lake vaguely in the background and the raindrops on the rose and the foliage.

The Rose has been loved throughout time, inspiring poetry and songs to be written about it's beauty.

Most notably was;

"Shakespeare's A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Liz, what is so striking on this photo is the water droplets. Almost like the flower is just drinking them in.

Conrad...

I have a fairly simple Olympus FE210,x775, mega pixel 7.1.  The rose was shoot on a resolution of 3072x2304, no flash, focal length 6.3 mm, exposure time (1/883) and aperture of f/3.1.  I use to take a lot of underwater photos which is a so different, both I love...above water & below.  Glad you liked it, Liz

Gary...

You have such a way with words, glad you liked it.  L

Tony...

Stretching after a shower....that would have been a great title, can I use it on my next rose picture :), I got a tad carried away and much have shoot 60 different roses that day after the rain.

Kevin...

This rose bush does have a really good smell to it....smellavision :).  L

Carl & Ceil...

It's almost Valentines day too.  Taking it easy and feeling much better.  The hardest thing to get over were the two back to back abdominal surgeries and the incisions have all healed within the last week and no more pain.  Love Ya, L

Hi Liz!

Great shot!  We have been "in the rain" for a couple days here ... the boys and I are just waiting for the sun again!

Take Care!

Hello my friend, so good to see you improving. I just read your comment on Ricki's post that you will be hading to your Lake House. Great to hear you are getting your strength back (even if it is to clean up the place). Best to you in the coming weeks!
