Spamming

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Advantage I

Recently I had a terrible experience with sending out an email to my sphere and was told by a .Com company that I had sent out an objectionable email. This was an email that was sent to me from a friend about not purchasing gas on May 15th....maybe some of you have received the same email.

Little did I know that I was spamming by sending out this email. I have had to pay the price of not downloading my folders in email. I have been denied access into my account and have had to start over.

I'm sharing this with you because I would feel terrible if you did something innocently and someone filed a spam complaint on you. Be careful of what you send and who you send it to. I am innocent and had no malicious intentions. Perhaps a warning is more suitable if only they had looked at my history to see that I have never sent out a mass email in the past ...except for open houses,  price reductions etc..

Always ready to learn and grow!

Crystal,

Do not worry too much about making mistakes with computers.  There are no failures in life, just outcomes.

I made a similar mistakes many years ago and felt bad about it but now consider it part of the learning curve.

Cheers,

Mario

It happens.

Sad that it has to happen to the good at the bad in the effort to weed out the bad...

Ok, maybe I'm missing something.  How is that SPAM if it is to people you know?  I sent out the same email. Sorry, that just sounds crazy.  I'm confused...."objectionable email".  Hopefully someone will comment as to why this is SPAM.  Crystal, I don't see anything wrong with it..

Crystal, that seems a bit extreme. what service provider for the email? is it paid or free? that's just crazy. if it's your sphere, you can send what you like.

did you BCC the addresses?? or leave them in plain view? make sure to always hide them! :)

later spammer. :))

You need to push back on this. There are usually procedures setup for getting past this kind of thing.

I feel your pain but my feeling is that any email that is forwarded to me stops at me and especially if it has Fwd in the subject line. I don't care if it comes from my friend or my sister...I don't forward chain letters of any kind no matter how much luck it may bring me or how much money this sick little boy needs to raise or how much money google is going to send me for testing their email tracking program.
