Fannie Mae Halts Foreclosures and Evictions for Occupied Single Family Properties

Possible good news for homeowners on the verge of foreclosure and tenants in homes being foreclosed in danger of becoming homeless...

Fannie Mae has halted foreclosures and evictions on all occupied single family properties through March 6, 2009. Here is the link to the News Release.

Any other Fannie Mae brokers/agents out there still getting used to the idea of keeping tenants in place and being a property manager? Any problems, solutions, or helpful tips for interacting with the tenants?

I have noticed that many of the Fannie Mae REO's were once on the market as short sales, so maybe this will give homeowners more time to negotiate a short sale with their bank and avoid foreclosure. What's in it for the banks to approve a short sale?
